Secrets of the Titanic | 1986
A documentary which focuses on the R.M.S. Titanic, which sank on April 14, 1912. Starting with a history of the great liner, the program makes use of archival stills and newsreels to show how the ship looked before it set out on its fateful voyage, and compares that to models and underwater videotape footage taken by the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution to show how the wreckage looks now. Also shown are some of the artifacts revealed during the expedition. In addition, the "National Geographic Explorer" special features segments on steel-drum music and nocturnal habits of African lions.
