I love a good Intro for a show.
The kind of intro that feels like it spoils something, but it’s too strange to even understand what’s going on. An opening credit that makes you excited to watch a show. Mind you, judging from the trailer, this show will be one of those shows that you kind of have to sit back, relax, and just let the ride go, but at least the intro follows that idea.
The show follows Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane) as he takes the new recruit Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle) along to recruit some people. The Old gods are in a battle with the technology, and the old gods are losing. The intro credits shows this incredibly well, with images of old gods and symbols that we know from different religions including Menorah, Budha, Ganesh, an Egyptian pyramid, Jesus (as a spaceman). At the same time, these religious symbols are in a battle with drugs, fame, and other things, just like what will take place on the show.
All I know for sure is I can’t wait for the series to begin. American Gods premieres Sunday, April 30, 2017, at 9 PM E/P on Starz.
