Steve Irwin Branded ‘Showman’ by BBC Official

Late Crocodile Hunter star Steve Irwin has been branded “a showman” by a BBC wildlife filmmaker, outraging fans and family.

Alastair Fotherfill, the director of hit series Planet Earth, accuses the recently deceased father of two of being more interested in showing off than helping wildlife.

Fortherfill says, “Let’s face it, Steve was a showman.

“Yes, he introduced a lot of people to natural history. But his basic stock in trade was, ‘Aren’t I brave, and animals are dangerous?’

“I’m not interested in human stars, only in animal stars”

Fotherfill’s outburst comes two days after Irwin‘s widow Terri paid tribute to Planet Earth narrator Sir David Attenborough at Britain’s National Television Awards.
