Glenda Jackson joins board of trustees at The Old Vic

Oscar-winnning actress Glenda Jackson has agreed to join the board of trustees at The Old Vic.
According to British newspaper The Daily Mail, the 83-year-old has joined the theatre following one of its most turbulent chapters.
House of Cards actor Kevin Spacey was accused of several allegations of “inappropriate behaviour” during the eleven-year period he was artistic director at The Old Vic, which came to an end in 2015.
“It’s fantastic to have Glenda on board,” a source told The Daily Mail. “She loves The Old Vic.”
Jackson gave up acting to pursue a political career, and spent nearly 23 years as a Labour Member of Parliament (MP), including serving as a junior minister in Prime Minister Tony Blair’s government from 1997 to 1999. After standing down as an MP in 2015, she made her stage comeback at the theatrical institution in 2016 by playing King Lear.
The actress and her agent declined to comment to the publication on her new role “at this time”.
