Lysette Anthony mourning mother

Former actress Bernadette Milnes passed away in mid-December (12) when a blaze broke out at her property.

The fire was discovered by a passing taxi driver and Anthony tells Britain’s Daily Mail, “I can’t begin to imagine what he saw. My mother was so badly burned, there was not much left to bury.”

The formal cause of Milnes’ death has yet to be established, but Anthony is focusing on her role in a U.K. touring production of Agatha Christie’s Go Back For Murder to distract herself from the grief.

She says, “In some ways it has given me some comfort: this is what Mummy told me to do, and I sense her around me so strongly.

“Every night, before I step out on stage, I smile to her while I’m waiting in the wings. I feel her around me like a hug, and 30 years of crippling stage fright has evaporated. Mummy would like that.”
