My Boys — you know, that show that always has advertisements on TBS while your watching re-runs of Family Guy — just got canceled by TBS.
The series’ fourth season’s finale aired on Sunday, which turned out to be the series’ last. The show had a decent following, but the network said its failure to increase viewership over the past season led to My Boys’ demise.
The show centered on sportswriter PJ Franklin (Jordana Spiro) in Chicago. She was a tomboy and only had dudes for friends. Jim Gaffigan also starred as PJ’s brother, Andy Franklin.
The cancellation could be good news for Spiro. Earlier this year, she lost her role in the upcoming NBC series Love Bites because the future of My Boys was uncertain. So maybe she’ll have a chance to hop back into that role, get to network television and beyond.
