The story of a young bride and groom who are employed by Fenwick Diversified Industries, Incorporated, a Los Angeles-based company that prohibits the employment of married couples. Cara Wilton, a beautiful, but scatterbrained file clerk, and Frank Bridges, the efficiency expert, resolve their problem by concealing their marriage. Episodes relate their struggles to keep their marriage a secret.
After five months, the format changed. Plagued by the constant fear of discovery, Cara and Frank reveal the fact of their marriage to Damon Burkhardt, the company manager. When she discovers that Frank is to be discharged, Cara, whose complex filing system makes her inexpendable, questions the company's marriage policy and convinces the president to alter the rule.
