The Court | 2002
Drama series that takes a revealing look at the inner-workings of the U.S. Supreme Court. The series explores the career and personal life of newly appointed Supreme Court Justice Kate Nolan, a pragmatic politician who must prove herself in a deeply divided Court while learning to navigate between the camps of her new colleagues: conservative Chief Justice Townsend; ultraconservative Justice Martinez; and well-bred liberal Justice Voorhees. Also, Justice Nolan must create a rapport with the brilliant young clerks assigned to assist her: Alexis Cameron, Christopher Bell and Dylan Hirsch. While Nolan struggles within the halls of the Supreme Court, an aggressive television reporter, Harlan Brandt, and his eager, young production assistant, Betsy Tyler, work from outside. Dedicated to putting a face on the work of the court, Brandt's fast-paced, deadline driven world is often at cross-purposes with the sanctity of the institution he covers.
