The Cracker Man | 1999
An original Southern drama about family ties, fireworks and romantic possibilities. The drama explores the ties that bind one to family, the land and the past through the emotions and actions of three characters in a small, rural town in Alabama. For nine years, Gloria Turner devotedly and diligently cares for her inheritance -- her farm, her truck and her elderly great-grandpa. One July 4th, as Gloria prepares to celebrate Grandpa's 100th birthday, she meets Hank, a fireworks salesman known as the Cracker Man. Charming and dangerous, part snake-oil salesman, rainmaker and evangelist, Hank carries with him the tools of transformation. Promising a spectacular fireworks display for Grandpa, Hank also sparks a feeling of passion that slowly kindles Gloria's heart.
