Synopsis

Siegel's second made-for-TV movie (his first, "The Killers," had been diverted to theatrical distribution, having originally been deemed too violent for television) is a remake of the chase melodrama "Ride the Pink Horse" (1947), set this time in New Orleans during Mardi Gras. A gunman sets out to avenge the supposed murder of a friend and finds himself neck-deep in trouble with a powerful union official. One of the top songs of the day, "The Girl from Ipanema," was worked in by Stan Getz and Astrud Gilberto when the action lagged.
