The Lost Dutchman Mine | 2000
The Lost Dutchman Mine, a legend of the Southwest, has never been found -- that is, if it exists at all. In the late 1860s, Jacob Waltz, a German immigrant, claimed to have struck gold in Arizona, but all who accompanied him to the mine mysteriously disappeared. On his deathbed, under which lay 48 pounds of gold ore, he supposedly gave many clues to the mine's whereabouts. To this day, no one has found it. Whatever the truth may be, the story of the Lost Dutchman Mine has made thousands into treasure hunters, spawned hundreds of theories and has become a legend.
