Synopsis

Further adventures of Arthur Conan Doyle's renowned detective, Sherlock Holmes.

"The Dying Detective": A man with a growing opium habit becomes extremely ill, collapses and dies. To snare the murderer, Holmes pretends to have a dangerous fever.

"The Cardboard Box": A woman disappears after her sister receives a parcel with gruesome contents meant for a third sister.

"The Three Gables": Mary Maberley calls on Holmes to investigate after she's offered a large sum of money for her house and its contents, and thugs steal a manuscript that contains her brother's life story.

"The Red Circle": At the request of Mrs. Warren, a landlady, Holmes investigates the background of her strange lodger, Emilia, who is trying to escape the murderous leader of the Red Circle.

"The Golden Pince-Nez": Holmes investigates the death of Willougby Smith, secretary to Professor Coram whose wife, Anna, was taken away by the police during the Russian Revolution.

"The Mazarin Stone": Holmes is in the Highlands when the Mazarin Stone, a diamond due to be returned to France, is stolen from the Whitehall Museum.
