Paul Sorvino: ‘I don’t want to be remembered as GoodFellas mob boss"

Actor Paul Sorvino fears he’ll always be remembered for playing a mobster in Goodfellas.
The veteran actor portrayed Paul Cicero in Martin Scorsese’s crime, but he insists he’s nothing like his tough character in real life.
In fact he’s a stay-at-home family man smitten with his wife Dee Dee Benkie.
“There are many things that I’m not, and one of them is a gangster,” the 77-year-old tells Closer.
“I don’t want my legacy to be as a guy who kills people… My actual world is very different – I’m a sculptor, painter, poet, opera singer, actor and author. I’m a loving person. I’m not a violent person – unless you hurt my family. Then I go from teddy bear to grizzly bear.”
Paul wed political strategist Dee Dee, his third wife, in 2014, and he insists this time he married well.
“If I had to do it all over again, I suspect I probably wouldn’t have married until later in life,” he explains. “My marriage now is the dream of my lifetime.”
