The Whispers co-founder Nicholas Caldwell dead at 71

Nicholas Caldwell, the co-founder of soul group The Whispers, has died, aged 71.
The singer/songwriter was found dead on Tuesday night (05Jan16) at his home in Stockton, California.
Details surrounding his death have not been released.
Caldwell was on hiatus from the group, which he started in 1964, and was hoping to return to the stage alongside brothers Wallace and Walter Scott, and Leaveil Degree later this year (16) after regaining his health.
Reports suggest he suffered a string of heart problems in recent years.
The Whispers’ hits include And The Beat Goes On, Rock Steady, and It Just Gets Better With Time.
The bandmates were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2003, and The SoulMusic.com Hall Of Fame in 2012.
