The Wide Net | 1986
An "American Playhouse" presentation adapted from Eudora Welty's story about a young couple coming of age in the American South in 1933. Set in rural Mississippi, the story focuses on the turbulent relationship of a young married couple -- William Wallace and his wife Hazel. Recently wed, their young love is tested by a clash of wills brought on by their individual forceful personalities. The drama explores the universal conflicts associated with young love, the reciprocal needs and demands placed on a relationship, and the questions that come about from these issues.
