S1E14: Tonight on The X Factor, America and the judges once again had to send one act home for good. I think we all were confident that Rachel Crow, Brian “Astro” Bradley, and Drew were safe going into this next round of voting, but that still left the older contestants in jeopardy. So once Steve Jones made it through his insanely long dramatic pauses and announced who was safe (IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER), we discovered that Lakoda Rayne and The Stereo Hogzz received the least amount of votes from America. But that still left the judges to make the final decision of who should be eliminated from the competition (because like I said in Wednesday night’s post, this show is all about the judges). I can’t help but feel sorry for Paula since this is the second week in a row that her category has ended up with the lowest votes. But it’s like I said before – it’s hard to establish a connection with groups rather than an individual contestant, which puts those acts at a disadvantage.
So once again, the groups sang for their survival in front of the judges and both ended up giving a pretty impressive performance, but only one could be saved by the night’s end. Who did the judges’ decide to cast off? There was a lot of back and forth and at one point Paula broke down and originally abstained from voting, but after many tears, a decision was made. In the end, The Stereo Hogzz were eliminated, which left Lakoda Rayne free to sing another week. As the acts continue to get whittled down, deciding who should be sent home is only going to get harder and harder each week. Although at this rate, I still have no idea how we’re getting out of this before Christmas since 10 acts still remain.
