Top of the World | 1981
Three contestants compete, representing the USA, the UK, and Australia. In round one, each contestant is required to answer twelve questions: four based on his own country and eight based on his challenger's countries. Each correct response scores one point. In round two, contestants are quizzed for two minutes on a subject of their own choosing. Two points are scored for each correct response.
In round three, players are tested on world knowledge and each correct answer scores three points; an incorrect response deducts three points from a player's score. The highest-scoring player is the winner and receives a trophy. The three highest-scoring players (one per country) return at a later date and compete in a final game wherein a rare 1924 Rolls Royce is awarded to the highest-scoring player.
The program is based in England and uses satellite transmission to pick up contestants in Europe, America, and Australia.
