Sure, you’ve seen the “Behind the Music” on Meat Loaf, but can an hourlong TV documentary really tell the entire saga that is Mr. Loaf? Of course not.
And so VH1 has chosen to correct this oversight by beginning production on a two-hour docudrama about the singer who’s usually described as beefy because writers can’t think of any other way to describe a man who named himself after a cow dish. W. Earl Brown (“There’s Something About Mary”) will star as the “Bat Out of Hell” star.
A July 26 air date is planned.
THE WAITING GAME: HBO says its hit mob drama “The Sopranos,” which wrapped up Season No. 2 on Sunday, won’t begin season No. 3 until next March, or roughly 11 months from now. The line is that creator David Chase is going to take his time in dreaming up storylines for the next two years.
DON’T ASK: NBC has renewed low-rated daytime soap “Passions” for a second season. For the uninitiated, “Passions” is the show with Susan Lucci‘s daughter (Liza Huber) and the kid who plays the talking doll.
