TV Tidbits: Justin Bieber Visits Springfield, Chloe Sevigny to ‘Portlandia’

Justin BieberThe Simpsons: It’s a rite of passage for any major Hollywood star to visit Springfield, especially one who wasn’t even alive when TV’s most famous fictional town was born. Justin Bieber will play himself on an upcoming episode of The Simpsons, where he will spar with Bart when he is denied entrance to a talent show. [EW]

Portlandia: Big Love sistah wife Chloe Sevigny (who is also set to appear on the second season of American Horror Story later this year) will first make a pitstop in Portland, playing Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein‘s new hipster roommate. The series won’t return until January 2013, though, which will give plenty of time for fans to speculate as to the chunkiness of Sevigny’s costume glasses. [EW]

The Goodwin Games: FOX’s midseason comedy (which already stars Becki Newton, Scott Foley and TJ Miller as three estranged siblings) has signed True Blood shifter Janina Gavankar in a recurring role. Don’t watch True Blood? You might know Gavankar from her other signature role — that of the legendary Shiva in The League! Hail the Shiva Bowl! [TVLine]

Brothers-in-Law: The Newsroom‘s Kelen Coleman will play a major character in TV Land’s new comedy pilot. Coleman, who plays Alison Pill‘s roommate on Newsroom, will play the wife of Neil (Josh Cooke), who is forced to hang out with his wife’s twin sister’s oddball fiancé. [TVLine]
