The hit HBO series Game of Thrones has been one of the most talked-about shows in recent years. Last night, on April 14th, 2021, the official Twitter account for the show tweeted “Winter is coming” and fans are not sure what to make of it.

That’s it, that’s the whole tweet. Like what?! The internet is demanding answers.

Fans were disappointed with how the final season ended up and there are many people speculating that this tweet could be hinting at a remake. There is already Game of Thrones confirmed spin-offs in the works. So in hopes that this really is the HollyGOOD news we’ve been waiting for, we are speculating what members of the cast of Games of Thrones would return and what characters would live on. WARNING: Spoiler-alert. If you haven’t yet watched this series, this article will spoil some of the most memorable moments of the Games of Thrones series. Read on if you dare…

Game of Thrones characters: who would return?

Well, it’s easy to say who wouldn’t return – anyone who died. Right? Well maybe not. In fact, the series brought back to life Jon Snow, played by Kit Harrington after he was stabbed to death and the Mountain died at least twice. So all bets are off.  We’d need a villain, and a hero, and of course a love interest. The love interest is the easiest Tormund and Brienne of Tarth 1000%. The hero in our version of this remake is the heroine Yara Greyjoy. Finally, although disappointing, our villain would be the unlikely Gendry Baratheon who tries to make a claim as the rightful king.

Game of Thrones cast: who would return?

The series acted as a springboard for some of the cast members and has propelled them into Hollywood stardom as famous actors. Other cast members already had deep Hollywood careers as famous actors before being cast in the series.

Emilia Clarke’s portrayal of Daenerys Targaryen wasn’t her first stop in the spotlight. She was cast as Sarah Connor in Terminator Genisys and Jyn Erso in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. She also starred in the romantic comedy Me Before You and Qi’ra in Solo: A Star Wars Story

Kit Harrington has been busy since Game of Thrones ended and just wrapped up a project with Golden Globe-winning director Chloé Zhao.

No one else could play Sansa Stark except Sophie Turner, and while we wouldn’t want to leave for work if we were married to a Jonas brother she’s got to come back for the remake. Game of Thrones was her debut as an actress and therefore she owes it to us – right?

Ok, really there are too many to list. The entire cast of Game of Thrones has to come back so that HBO can remake season 8 the right way. Someone start a petition.

To say Game of Thrones fans were disappointed with the final season of the epic HBO series hit Games of Thrones would be the understatement of a lifetime.

In fact, over 1.7 million people have signed a petition on change.org urging HBO to remake season 8. And that number just went up by one because we joined them. It’s fun to think about how season 8 could be remade so that the lives in the seven kingdoms end differently.
