UPDATE: ‘Glee’ Will See McKinley’s First ‘Leprechaun,’ More Katy Perry, and More Trouty Mouth?

Glee Project winner Pot o GoldUpdate: Trouty Mouth may not be lost forever. According to TVLine, Chord Overstreet is in talks to return to Glee in a recurring role. It seems that someone is regretting cutting out on Ryan Murphy. Overstreet left the series after it leaked that he was not being offered a series regular position and stated he needed more time to work on his music. If this deal goes through, we’ll see Sam again as early as episode 8 of Season 3, which runs in early December. Does this mean we’ll be seeing trouble in paradise for Mercedes and her beau when ex-BF Sam comes back into the mix?

Earlier: We may have to wait two weeks — yes, Gleeks, that’s 14 whole days — before the next episode of the most musical scripted show on television airs, but in the meantime there are a few bits of intel to nibble on while you reluctantly watch the World Series or refine your dance steps for your stage production/homage to Darren Criss.

First up, we spy a Glee Project winner in a little bit of a misunderstanding with Brittany. Here’s Fox’s official summary:

“A new foreign exchange student, Rory Flanagan (guest star Damian McGinty, winner of ‘The Glee Project’), enrolls at McKinley and crashes with Brittany S. Pierce (Heather Morris) who thinks he’s a leprechaun. Meanwhile, Mercedes (Amber Riley) attempts to recruit new members to join Shelby Corcoran’s (guest star Idina Menzel) newly formed glee club, and Sue’s (Jane Lynch) congressional campaign heats up.”

We’ll also enjoy a little encore of Blaine taking on Katy Perry, this time with “Last Friday Night (TGIF)” — which is sort of funny considering both Criss and Kevin McHale (Artie) had parts in Perry’s sprawling video for the hit single. Santana and Mercedes also take on Christina Aguilera’s “Candyman.” Those musical numbers combined with the fact that the latest promo teases Burt Hummel’s imminent political campaign against Sue Sylvester makes us me one excited Gleek.

Glee returns to Fox Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
