‘Westworld’ was a tremendous hit for HBO. The show, which has completed their first season, had a total of 13 Million viewers, more than other hit shows like Game of Thrones and True Detective had in their first season.
The series is based off the 1973 film Westworld and takes place inside a Wild West themed park that is filled with androids known as hosts. Guests can, and will, act however they want to the hosts without fear of any kind of repercussion. That is until hosts started becoming aware of their situations and things really go down.
One of the things that made the show so special, besides the story line, was the characters. There was plenty of them and way more than what meets the eye about them. There is Dr. Robert Ford (Anthony Hopkins) the creator of Westworld, Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) the sweet host who had way more about her, Maeve (Thandie Newton) a host madam who thinks there is a lot more to life, Teddy (James Marsden) a gunfighter who is new to the park, and the mysterious Man In Black (Ed Harris).
A personal favorite of mine was Bernard (Jeffrey Wright), the Head of the Westworld Programming Divison. In the above exclusive interview, Mr. Wright talks about Bernard as a character, as well as what Bernard learns as the episodes continue.
We might have to wait a while for Season 2, but Westworld Season 1 is available on Digital HD starting next Monday, March 6, 2017.
Until then, freeze all motor functions.
