Friday night’s episode of Jeopardy! featured the Final Jeopardy! category “Flowers” which seems harmless enough, right?
The clue was “The flower pictured here is called this, also a disparaging term for people on the political left,” which lead host Alex Trebek to predict, “I have a feeling that you may have found a way to insult liberals in this country.”

Becky Sullivan, a producer for NPR, had no hope of catching her opponent and bid her entire $6,000 stack. After revealing her response, “What is a pansy,” Trebek said, “Yep, you found a way to insult liberals in this country.”
While Becky’s answer cost her the rest of her money, she still walked away with $2,000 and her response made her a conservative hero on Twitter:

However, Becky was quick to defended her answer:
OK here’s the deal with pansy: I actually didn’t know bleeding heart was a flower. I just put the only flower I knew that was also an insult — Becky Sullivan (@becsully) October 24, 2015
