Jimmy Kimmel Live’s “Celebrities Read Mean Tweets” is the gift that keeps on giving. We already know Twitter is notoriously rude — just look at how badly Leslie Jones was bullied by trolls. Most celebs are pretty good at handling a cyber-jab or two, and seeing their reaction as they read the most absurd, mean tweets out loud is priceless.
The thing about mean tweets is that they often have a tiny shred of truth. Reading them is like this ah-ha moment. For instance, someone said Bryan Cranston looked like Jim Carrey impersonating Matthew McConaughey — and even Cranston can kind of see that because his impression is spot on. Melissa McCarthy totally revels in being a Madea for “white people” (because hey, Madea is pretty funny).
Ryan Gosling’s pretty priceless too. The commenter said “Why does Ryan Gosling always look like he’s trying to squeeze a fart out without it making any noise?” Those dreamy, romantic eyes can kind of look that way in the right light.
