Working mum Susan Sarandon used trailers as mini kitchens

Susan Sarandon used to turn her movie trailers into mini prep kitchens whenever she had to work over Thanksgiving to ensure she could serve up a traditional feast for her family.
The Thelma and Louise star, a mother of three, insisted on cooking for her loved ones even when she was away on location, so she would spend her time in between scenes chopping up vegetables for her stuffing and other side dishes.
“I am a stuffing person,” said Susan. “There’s been many a time when I was chopping in my trailer the night before Thanksgiving, cut the apples and onions and everything… because I was working, I had to do all of that ahead of time.”
The actress is now a proud grandmother to her daughter Eva Amurri Martino’s two young children, baby son Major and daughter Marlowe, but the kids have forced her to adapt her favourite stuffing recipe.
“I have a kid now that’s allergic to dairy and one that’s allergic to nuts and apples, so my recipe went down the drain!” she exclaimed. “I have to make different (stuffings). It’s not the same though, when it’s not in the turkey.”
Despite having to change up her recipe routine, Thanksgiving remains Susan’s favourite holiday, and this year, she’s spending it at Eva’s home to make it easier on the new mother-of-two.
“I love Thanksgiving, you don’t have to give presents, all you have to do is be grateful, that’s not so hard!” she smiled during a recent appearance on U.S. cooking show The Chew.
“This year, my daughter has two little kids, so we’re… gonna bring everything to her house so she doesn’t have to cook and doesn’t have to cart the kids, and they don’t get tired – everything that was wrong last year!”
