You’re Going To Want ‘Batman: The Complete Animated Series’ in HD

Full disclosure, I loved ‘Batman: The Animated Series’ when I was a kid.

But I loved a lot of things as a kid, and a lot of those things DO NOT hold up at all. Could I watch this as an adult and be ok with it?

This show has gone down in history as one of, if not the, best superhero show of all time. First off, Kevin Conroy is the best Batman. His Batman was the perfect blend of smart, funny, cunning, and a fighter, without the use of super deep voices, or worse, bat nips. The series also defined so many great Batman villains. It gave a generic character like Mr. Freeze a backstory about why he went bad (won an Emmy for that episode). Harley Quinn wasn’t a thing until a random Joker Henchmen got popular and they made a backstory and people fell for her.

While I love Heath Ledger and Jack Nicholson as the Joker, literally everyone could learn from Mark Hamill’s take on the character. That laugh is the stuff of nightmares that I can still hear perfectly to this day.

I’m not going to go into any spoilers but with episodes like “The Man Who Killed Batman”, “Mudslide”, “Harley & Ivy”, and “Perchance to Dream” this show was truly something special.

If you’ve never seen this series do yourself a favor and go buy it right now. If it’s been a while and you’re on the fence, it holds up, especially clearer than ever remastered on Blu-ray/digital HD.

IF all that isn’t enough for you, the box set even contains Batman, Joker, and Harley Quinn Funko Pocket Pops, A lenticular set of collector cards of original animation artwork, and the Blu-rays for spinoff movies ‘Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (one of the greatest Batman films ever) and Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero.
