Live Together, Die Alone

Episode
Jack, Sayid and Sawyer swim out to the sailboat to find a drunk Desmond sitting inside. In flashbacks we learn about Desmond: that he was dishonorably discharged from his regiment with the British military, that he loved a woman named Penny Widmore whose father did not approve of him, that he accepted a sailboat from a Libby and planned to use the sailboat to win the race that Penny's father runs. Upon speaking with Desmond, Jack discovers that the sailboat will not be the way off the island. But Sayid realizes he can use the boat in his plan to deceive Michael, and enlists sailing help from Jin and Sun.Locke is determined to see what happens when the button is not pushed. He enlists Desmond's helps, and the two take over the computer, locking Eko out. Eko asks Charlie to help him get back in, and they head to the hatch with dynamite. While walking through the jungle, Jack is forced to expose Michael and make him admit what he has done in order to get his son back. Hurley turns to leave, so Jack admits that he has a plan of his own. Sayid sails to the point of the island to find empty huts and and empty hatch. No Others to be found. Meanwhile, Jack and those with Michael find thousands of journal entries, and the pipe that got them there, before they are all shot by some sort of tranquilizer bullets. Locke tells Desmond about what he found in the other hatch, which leads Desmond to believe two things. One, that the button must be pushed. Two, that he was the cause of the plane crash. Locke, not willing to believe him, smashes the computer. The clock winds down, the magnet beomes stronger, and Desmond rushes to turn the key that will "blow the whole thing." A bright white light and loud hum affects everyone on the island. The Others tie up Jack, Hurley, Sawyer and Kate. Henry arrives and gives Michael Walt, his boat, and coordinates to get off the island. Hurley is untied, and told to go back to camp to tell everyone not to bother The Others. Jack, Kate, and Sawyer are kept with The Others.Back at camp, Claire asks Charlie about what he saw. Then she kisses him. At the end of the episode, we see two Russian men in a very cold climate, playing chess inside some sort of capsule. Suddenly one of them is distracted by their blinking computer and an alert that reads "Electromagnetic Anomaly Detected". They rush to the phone and call...Penny Widmore, to tell her that they "found it".
