In a fit of delirium, Eko dreams of his past and his brother. When he awakens, he believes he needs to go to his brother's body, which he had last left in the plane next to the Pearl station and burned. Locke, taking charge in Jack's absence, forms a search party to find Eko. He also wants to go to the Pearl station to use their computers to try and communicate with The Others and find their captive friends. When Eko arrives at the plane, his brother's body is missing. While in the Pearl station, they are able to see someone in one of the monitors, but only for a few seconds. Eko is killed by the strange black smoke. Right before he dies, he tells Locke that they are "next." Meanwhile, Jack discovers that Ben wants him to perform spinal surgery on him. Jack is conflicted over what to do. Juliet brings Jack a movie to watch. After she presses play, she begins to beg Jack to consider doing the surgery. However the "movie" is actually a silent clip of Juliet holding up signs that tell Jack she needs his help to kill Ben and make it look like an accident.
