In a flash forward, we see Hurley getting arrested after seeing someone/something in a store and racing away in his car. It appears he is hallucinating again. Hurley is thrilled when he is put back in a mental insitution. His vistors include a man who claims to be a lawyer for Oceanic but Hurley is suspicious of; Jack, who wants to know if Hurley will reveal their secret; and Charlie. Hurley is unsure as to whether or not Charlie is real or another hallucination. Charlie tells him "they need you." Hurley tells Jack he thinks they should go back to the island. Back on the island, everyone happily prepares to be rescued. Their happiness is cut short when Naomi's body dissapears and it is revealed to them that Charlie has died, leaving a message for them saying "Not Penny's Boat." Kate finds Naomi, who is upset thinking that they stabbed her after she helped them. Kate tells her that it was only Locke who did it, and so Naomi helps with the rescue phone and covers for the survivors to her people right before she dies. Hurley accidentally finds Jacob's shack, but wonders if it is real. He finds Locke, and they talk about how they both agree that they should not get on the rescue boat. They share their feelings with the other survivors, and everyone must decide whether they want to go with Hurley and Locke to the barracks, or with Jack and Kate to the rescue site. The group splits up, and Jack and Kate take their survivors towards the helicopter. As they run to find it, they find a man who has parachuted off it that asks, "Are you Jack?'
