Michael continues to plan his and his brother's escape. His path crosses an inmate named T-Bag when he tries to remove a screw from some bleachers. Mafia friends of Abruzzi visit and put pressure on him to get an informant's whereabouts from Michael. The white and black prisoners prepare for a race conflict and Michael is caught between the two sides as he needs something from each. As the prison erupts in a race riot, T-Bag spies Michael with the body of one of his cronies. Michael creates an allen wrench from the screw. Abruzzi cuts off one of Michael's toes when he won't reveal the informant's location.
