A highlight of the week's events, including: Theodore, armed with the knowledge that Blythe is up to something, proposes to her that they take their relationship to the next level, but Hope overhears Theodore’s plans and assumes the worst. At a special garden party, Theodore surprises them all by proposing to Hope and not Blythe; Despite her anger and embarrassment from having been scorned by Theodore yet again, Blythe still tries to create some doubt in Emma’s faith in her father, hinting that there are far more secrets he’s hiding; Blythe demands that Aaron helps speed up her plans; Taylor and Lani hook up; Blythe continues to manipulate Brooke, who reveals to her that she wants to marry Aaron; Aaron convinces Blythe to let him have Brooke, reasoning that he can make her fall so much in love with him that they can get back together after her father is destroyed. Meanwhile, Theodore informs Emma of the connection between Josh and Blythe; Emma begins to lose interest in Josh; Edward continues his affair with Jennifer; Emma finds her mom’s journal, which hints at a “horrible secret”; Blythe nudges Josh in Emma’s direction; Madeleine’s pen pal delivers some bad news; Theodore tells Madeleine he has no intention of revealing the family secrets to Emma; Brooke makes a surprise visit to Blythe’s office and sees some of The Tides confidential files; and, Emma learns one of the family secrets: Theodore’s not her real father.
