Season 2 Episodes

Tia tells Robert she needs some space, and Robert soon learns that he's not going to be able to charm her back into the fold. When Neesee tries to patch things up between the married couple, she learns that she's the source of Tia's concerns.

Episode 2. Return of the Mack (Air Date: 09/28/2004)

Robert starts moping over the loss of Tia, only to find that his downer attitude is being imitated by Bobby Jr., so he decides to show his son a little something about women. Meanwhile, Tia finds herself pursued by a hunky fireman on a visit to the school.

Episode 3. The Kiss Off (Air Date: 10/05/2004)

Tia discovers that Robert is already dating again, and goes out on a double date with Dirk, Jonelle, and Rick, her firefighter date. When Robert finds out, he calls her during their dinner, only to discover that she kissed Rick. At the end of his own evening, however, Robert realizes that he is unable to make himself kiss his date.

Episode 4. In Through the Out Door (Air Date: 10/12/2004)

Neesee takes care of a sick Robert and Bobby Jr., and her kindness leads Robert to remember how he felt when he fell in love with her. Meanwhile, Tia realizes she still loves Robert after Rick shows himself in a bad light, but Robert tells her that now he's the one who needs some time apart.


Robert and Neesee have dinner together to discuss the kiss that they shared and try to determine whether or not they are falling back in love with one another.

Episode 6. Let's Stay Together (Air Date: 10/26/2004)

Tia tears into Robert for his kiss with Neesee, which causes a scene as the argument erupts at Dirk and Jonelle's wedding.

Episode 7. Basket Cases (Air Date: 11/09/2004)

Neesee invites everyone to a basketball game with luxury box seats, but the mood soon becomes frantic when Bobby Jr. goes missing.


Tia's dad comes over to the house for Thanksgiving dinner, but things get uncomfortable when he becomes smitten with Neesee's mom, who has no interest in him whatsoever. Following dinner, Bobby refuses to follow a parental order more than once, which forces them to spank him for the first time.


Robert coaches one of Bobby's basketball games, but he must set an example and avoid confronting an obnoxious heckling father. Meanwhile, Jonelle is peeved at Dirk when she learns he plans to purchase a plasma TV without her consent.

Episode 10. Home for Christmas? (Air Date: 12/14/2004)

While driving to an interview in New York, a major snowstorm hits and Robert must get off the road, throwing into question his chances of spending Christmas with Bobby and Tia.

Episode 11. Liar, Liar (Air Date: 01/04/2005)

Robert, Neesee, and Tia all differ in opinion on how best to deal with Bobby after he is caught in a lie. Meanwhile, Neesee tries to work out her longstanding conflicts with estranged father Roger at the suggestion of her therapist.


The return of Robert and Neesee's old friend, Frankie, now a hip, devoted minister, prompts the pair to reexamine the quality and direction of their lives and make some changes. Meanwhile, Frankie's sermon in church convinces Bobby he's going to hell.

Episode 13. Focus (Air Date: 02/08/2005)

Convinced that his son can't possibly have ADD, Robert tries to use therapy to rid Bobby of his hyperactivity problems. Meanwhile, Dirk tries to hide information about his assets as he worries his marriage to Jonelle is disintegrating.

Episode 14. Not So Wonderful Town (Air Date: 02/15/2005)

Robert and Tia's romantic Valentine's weekend in New York goes off the tracks when Robert's attempts to conduct his interview with tennis superstar Serena Williams is constantly bungled with delays by Serena's assistant and cousin, Wanda.

Episode 15. Handle Your Business (Air Date: 02/22/2005)

When Jonelle throws Dirk out of the house, he crashes on Robert and Tia's couch, but soon Robert and Tia find themselves drawn into their friends' romantic woes. Meanwhile, when Neesee co-heads a school fundraising event, she finds an unlikely business partner in an equally-competitive mom.

Episode 16. So I Creep (Air Date: 03/01/2005)

Robert lands a weekend correspondent gig on "Entertainment Tonight" and brings in Dirk as his producer, but when Dirk frowns upon the stories Robert is made to cover, he quits the job. Meanwhile, Neesee gets a little assistance with some shelves from her new business partner's brother, Rusty, but when the two hit it off and start dating, Rusty fears telling his sister about the attraction.

Episode 17. Movin' on Up (Air Date: 03/29/2005)

Robert is forced to choose between working on one of his two shows, "Mr. L.A." and "Entertainment Tonight," when the burden of doing both becomes too much to handle. Meanwhile, Neesee's relationship with business partner Sarah's brother, Rusty, doesn't sit well with Sarah.

Episode 18. Passing the Test (Air Date: 04/19/2005)

Robert and Tia find a pregnancy test while attending Neesee's birthday party and begin to think that she may be pregnant. Meanwhile, Dirk is obsessed with finally beating Turtle at a board game.

Episode 19. Baby's Got (Flash) Back (Air Date: 04/26/2005)

When Dirk stresses that marriage changes everything between people, Robert, Tia, Neesee, and Bobby all begin to imagine how their lives would be changed by the marriage of Robert and Tia. Neesee, meanwhile, tells Robert about her fears of losing Bobby once the marriage takes place.

Episode 20. Hollywood Swinging (Air Date: 05/03/2005)

When Robert's correspondent job on "Entertainment Tonight" begins to get him noticed, his swelled head becomes unbearable for everyone around him. Meanwhile, Neesee begins to realize that her relationship with Rusty may be doomed as he doesn't share her passion for champagne.

Episode 21. Sail On (Air Date: 05/10/2005)

Robert agrees to let "Entertainment Tonight" pay for his wedding as long as they get to televise the event, but when the advertising begins to swallow up the proceedings, Tia laments their decision. Soon after, Robert has feelings of guilt when he learns that his former show, "Mr L.A.," may be cancelled and wonders if he should leave "Entertainment Tonight" and go back to try and help the ratings.

Episode 22. He-Male Trouble (Air Date: 05/24/2005)

While Robert tries to figure out what his next career move will be, Tia faces a life-altering piece of information.
