Episode 1. Friends and Lovers (Air Date: 10/29/2001)

Ally and Richard hire a two lawyers who were formerly a couple and now best friends, which she finds very hard to understand.

Episode 2. Judge Ling (Air Date: 11/05/2001)

The governor of Massachusettes offers Ling a position as a Judge, subsequently a network exec offers her a "Judge Judy" type of show.

Episode 3. Neutral Corners (Air Date: 11/12/2001)

Ally has a nightmare and is torn over her feelings for Glenn, while John confesses his true feelings for her.

Episode 4. Fear of Flirting (Air Date: 11/19/2001)

Jenny reluctantly agrees to defend Raymond in a lawsuit, but suddenly the two begin to have feelings for one another.

Episode 5. I Want Love (Air Date: 11/26/2001)

Jenny's mother brings a lawsuit to the firm, but Jenny wants Ally to lose the case because she disagrees with her mother's plight which involves dating a much younger man.

Episode 6. Lost and Found (Air Date: 12/03/2001)

John makes an unexpected return and explains his absence to everyone, leaving Ally to struggle between her feelings for Larry and attraction to John.

Episode 7. Nine One One (Air Date: 12/10/2001)

Ally consults a minister who is fired for losing his faith in god, John opposes a mayor who cancels a Christmas parade after a tragedy.

Episode 8. Playing with Matches (Air Date: 01/07/2002)

Ally learns that Tim, who is about to marry Jenny's mother, wants to have an affair with her. She becomes even more confused to learn that Jenny's mom would not object to this.

Episode 9. Blowin' in the Wind (Air Date: 01/14/2002)

Ally purchases a house, and Richard arranges for everyone to help her fix the place.

Episode 10. One Hundred Tears (Air Date: 01/21/2002)

Ally represents a disturbed man, who repeatedly jumps out of his childhood bedroom window in attempt to prove he can fly.

Episode 11. A Kick in the Head (Air Date: 02/04/2002)

Maddie, a ten year old girl, arrives at Ally's house claiming to be her daughter from a past egg donation. Ally agrees to let her stay with her on a trial basis.

Episode 12. The New Day (Air Date: 02/11/2002)

Ally tries to juggle the stress of parenting a child and being promoted to partner at the firm.

Episode 13. Woman (Air Date: 02/18/2002)

Ally is forced to lay off Jenny for the sake of the firm, which angers Glenn into leaving with her to start their own firm. At home, Maddie expresses curiosity about sexual issues.

Episode 14. Homecoming (Air Date: 02/25/2002)

Ally takes a DNA test to be sure that Maddie is indeed her daughter, for fear of the natural parents reclaiming her. Maddie takes offense to this, assuming she has an alternate motive, but they are both emotional and relieved when the test returns positive.

Episode 15. Heart and Soul (Air Date: 03/04/2002)

Maddie intentionally gets caught smoking to avoid father-daughter day at school, getting Ally in trouble with Victor when she explains to Maddie why she can't be with him.

Episode 16. Love is All Around (1) (Air Date: 04/15/2002)

Ally and Victor have their awkward third date, where the sex is implied, but return home to find Maddie's nanny dead on the couch. Nelle is assigned a case opposing tough attorney Liza Bump (Christina Ricci).

Episode 17. Love is All Around (2) (Air Date: 04/15/2002)

Victor and Ally finally sleep together, and he learns to accept that she will never fully be over Larry. Sparks fly between Liza and John, who offers her a job with the firm.

Episode 18. Tom Dooley (Air Date: 04/22/2002)



Ally starts to second guess her relationship with Victor when they have trouble relating to Maddie, and after a fight she suggests they take some time apart. Richard agonizes over Liza.


Elaine unsucessfully audtions for "A Chorus Line" yet still winds up in bed with the casting director; Richard expresses his true feelings to Liza.

Episode 21. All of Me (Air Date: 05/13/2002)

The firm deals with a case involving a woman with split personalities; Ally and Cage take one side (Helen) while Fish and Liza handle the other (Helena).

Episode 22. Bygones (Air Date: 05/20/2002)

Series Finale. Ally ponders the future and says her farewells.
