The ten aspiring models have a swimwear shoot on a New York City rooftop. One model is sent home.
The nine remaining girls must learn to walk a fashion runway. The girls also complete a photo shoot for Stuff Men's Magazine and some of the contestants have a night out with Wyclef Jean. .
Tyra takes the girls out for dinner after their shoots, but the next morning Adrianne wakes up throwing up. She's rushed to the emergency room and learns she has food poisoning. Meanwhile, the contestants get makeovers including short haircuts and new hair colors and must be photographed with snakes.
Ebony becomes obsessed with improving her skin, which leaves behind a mess for the other girls to deal with. With the numbers dwindling, the remaining girls are forced into closer quarters. The girls are sent to an acting coach and then get to shoot a commercial.
The contestants worry that Elyse is suffering from an eating disorder. The girls also get publicity training and are interviewed on TV.
The girls go to Wilhelmina and learn they are going to go on go-sees. They are also surprised with a trip to Paris where they must cope with their cramped living arrangements and meet with the city's industry gurus.
The girls get to wear expensive dresses and show off their social skills while on society dates in Paris. The remaining four girls are assigned to a nude photo shoot.
