Birdie tries to avoids Marcus because she can't stand the idea of him leaving. But then Marcus proposes. Kai takes pain pills to escape her guilt about Lacey. Lacey is forced to tutor a class that includes one of the girls who beat her up.

Lacey tries to force her mom out when it seems she's overstayed her welcome. Kai battles to beat Dawn out for a spot in the Fiji Open.

Lacey continues to run from the cops, while Justin pulls strings to try and help her. Dawn wants to know why Kai was picked over her for Fiji when she clearly surfed better.

Dawn wants to leave WaveSync, but she must forfeit one-hundred thousand dollars to get out of her contract. Kai is nervous about going to Fiji. Lacey and her mother are getting along until her mother meets a man who wants them to move in with him. After speaking to Justin, Lacey and her mother decide it's best if Lacey moves back into the WaveSync house.

Vin's jealousy over Kai gets the best of him. Dawn gets her trust fund cut off after her dad finds out about the check she wrote to get out of her WaveSynce contract. Birdie gets an email from Marcus saying that he is coming home.

Marcus arrives home. He wants Birdie to marry him and move to Baltimore, so Birdie must decide what she wants to do. Dawn is torn about her recent choices, and Bailey is ready to pick up the pieces. She tells him she's not interested, but then learns that her father has passed away. After getting upset with Vin for doubting Josh's motives, Kai learns that Josh wants to be more than just her business partner.

Kai and Vin say that they love one another. Then Kai discovers that she might have a chance to go on the WaveSync Summer Pro Tour. Dawn arrives at Bailey's house to find him with another woman. Then Dawn shows up for a scrimage against the WaveSync girls and is out for blood. Lacey intentionally sabotages Justin's relationship with his new girlfriend.

Kai is devastated over Vin breaking up with her. Shoe tries to reason with him. Kai prepares to go away for the summer on tour. Dawn has to go to the reading of her father's will. After being left nothing, she tells Bailey she wants to go back to WaveSync. She decides to apologize to the girls and let them decide what to do. Justin discovers that Lacey set him up.
