The 12 new houseguests meet for the first time and are grouped into teams of 4 to enter the house and select their rooms. In the first Food Competition, the houseguests are told to cram into a Buick SUV with bags of food and stay in there for 60 seconds.
For the first Luxury Competition, the houseguests have to enter an inflatable pool filled with mud to find keys corresponding to another houseguest; the players have 6 minutes to find all of the keys and get back to their original starting positions. The houseguests are successful, unlocking a hot tub in their backyard. At the nomination ceremony, Mike decides to nominate Sheryl and Nicole for eviction.
Sheryl thinks that she is safe because people seem to not like Nicole, but some view Sheryl as a threat because she is so nice. Justin begins to annoy people with his random and sometimes threatening behavior. The houseguests win a filet mignon dinner when Mike correctly guesses the meal during a large game of "Charades."
Justin continues his erratic behavior, destroying property in the house and holding a knife to Krista's throat while he kisses her. Justin meets with the show's psychologist and is expelled from the show due to breaking the show's rules of conduct. Sheryl is evicted from the house by a vote of 5-3, surprising some who thought Nicole had no chance to stay.
Mike is shocked that Nicole wasn't evicted and feels that he is a targeted man now because he was so vocal in wanting to eliminate her. The Head of Household competition involves questions about the houseguests.
In the Luxury Competition, the houseguests are divided into teams of men versus women. Each team picks three players to ride a mechanical bull set up in the backyard; if a player stays on the bull for 30 seconds, he/she moves on to the next round.
Shannon and Will begin to develop feelings for each other but question whether they are real or strategic. Autumn is evicted from the house by a vote of 7-0. For the Head of Household competition, players are asked a series of questions about the remaining houseguests. Hardy lasts the longest and is elected the new Head of Household, a development that worries the "Chill Town" alliance of Will, Mike, Shannon and Nicole.
In the Food Competition, each houseguest requests three food items by writing them on yellow balls. Their requests are grouped with a bunch of other balls that are thrown over a fence in random intervals. The players receive the items on all of the balls that they catch in the air, leaving them with a strange mix of food items. Hardy nominates Will and Shannon for eviction, something that upsets the both of them as they've grown very close.
Will and Shannon vow to each other that they will do whatever it takes to eliminate Hardy now that he has nominated the both of them for eviction. In the next Luxury Competition, the players are divided into teams and compete for a chance to have their clothes professionally cleaned; the winning team is Bunky, Nicole, Kent and Shannon.
Shannon and Will have a date with a meal prepared for them by Nicole. Shannon is unanimously evicted from the house and is sad to leave because of her growing feelings for Will, even though she has a boyfriend back home. For the Head of Household competition, the players are asked a series of questions; Kent answers the most questions correctly and becomes the new Head of Household.
Kent enjoys the perks of being the new Head of Household and begins to get on the nerves of the remaining houseguests. The houseguests band together and win the next Food Competition, earning themselves full food rations for the next week. Mike and Krista begin to grow closer, spurred on by Mike's constant flirting and attention. Kent nominates Mike and Krista for eviction, which angers Mike because he protected Kent in a previous vote.
Monica wins the Luxury Competition and is given a personal stereo and a CD of her choice. Hardy wins the America's Choice contest and is allowed a three-minute phone call home, which he uses to speak with his grandmother. The houseguests continue to argue amongst each other, and alliances begin to fall apart.
Mike is evicted by a vote of 4-1. Krista is very upset after Mike leaves the house and is consoled by Bunky. The Head of Household competition consists of "true or false" questions. Hardy answers the most correctly and wins Head of Household for the second time.
The latest Food Competition goes well for the remaining houseguests, who walk away with close to full rations for the week. Kent decides to quit smoking, making him very irritable and causing the other houseguests to dislike him even more. At the nomination ceremony, Hardy places Will and Kent on the eviction block.
The Luxury Competition involves the remaining houseguests being divided into men versus women. The teams are blindfolded and must find three dummies located in the house and bring them outside; the women are the fastest and win the contest.
Will finds out that Krista, Monica and Hardy have maintained a secret alliance since the first week in the house, something he is quick to share with Nicole.
Krista and Monica have become close friends and feel that their relationship makes them a target. They confront Will in the hot tub about this, something that Will conveys to Hardy and Nicole. At the nomination ceremony, Nicole selects Krista and Monica for eviction solely because of their friendship; she feels that close pairs have a much better chance at winning the game.
Will and Nicole discuss whom they should vote to evict and are amazed that they are friends now after hating each other when the game first started. The houseguests receive a trampoline in the backyard due to the America's Choice contest, something that helps to ease the tension in the house but makes them sad because they have to say goodbye to their pet pig Ophelia.
Krista is evicted from the house by a unanimous vote of 3-0, something that deeply upsets her good friend Monica. Krista is okay with being evicted but feels Nicole misled her; Krista says there is no way she would vote for Nicole to win the game. Mike reunites with Krista and brings her flowers.
The remaining houseguests take the eviction of Krista hard and console each other. They compete in a competition to win a movie night in the HoH room; Bunky wins and selects Monica to join him for the movie and snacks.
Bunky finally comes clean about the $5000 deal he made, and the other houseguests poke fun at him for not getting a better deal. In the first part of the new Head of Household competition, a large U.
For the Food Competition, the houseguests build a large tower in the backyard with blocks corresponding to different food groups. The houseguests are happy that they can eat normal food again after subsisting on peanut butter and jelly for the past four days because of Bunky. Hardy nominates Will and Bunky for eviction, the third time he has nominated Will.
For the Luxury Competition, the remaining houseguests are asked to decorate dolls. The dolls are each placed in a basket, and the players must fill up as many balloons as possible to make the baskets float over the house. Will and Bunky are the first two houseguests to complete the task and win a helicopter tour over Los Angeles.
In the eviction ceremony, Monica votes to evict Will, and Nicole votes to evict Bunky. Due to the tie, Head of Household Hardy must cast the tiebreaking vote, which he uses to evict Bunky because he views Bunky as the biggest remaining threat.
Nicole's husband Jeff hears an internet rumor that Nicole hooked up with Will in the hot tub the night before and has a plane fly over the house with a banner admonishing Nicole.
Nicole's husband Jeff flies a new banner over the house showing his love for her, something she needed to see as she was despairing about her husband's anger over the false rumors.
Will, holding the eviction vote, is torn about who to evict between Hardy and Nicole. He likes Hardy more but is still mad that he played a part in the eviction of Shannon.
Will, Nicole and Monica are informed of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, with Monica being told that her cousin Tamitha was working at the World Trade Center that day and is still missing.
The evicted houseguests reunite to vote for the winner of BIG BROTHER 2. They air a lot of grievances towards each other and have a difficult time deciding whether Will or Nicole deserve to win, as they both have made enemies throughout the contest.
