The 14 new houseguests enter the house and select their sleeping quarters. For the first Food Competition, the houseguests are divided into two teams that must throw coconuts through an opening while riding on surfboards in the pool.
Rachel finds a hidden Golden Room, which contains a key that unlocks the backyard hot tub. As in the previous season, only six players will participate in the Power of Veto competition: Head of Household, the two evictees and three houseguests of their choosing. Rachel wins Power of Veto but decides not to use it, leaving Ashlea and Kaysar as the nominees.
Ashlea is evicted from the house by a vote of 9-2. The Head of Household competition involves a speed round of questions pertaining to the houseguests. Eric lasts the longest and wins Head of Household.
For the Food Competition, the remaining houseguests have to eat disgusting concoctions to win certain food and drink types, which about half of the players succeed at doing. Eric ("Cappy") nominates Michael and Janelle for eviction.
The houseguests, with the help of Sarah, unlock a secret door that reveals a workout gym for them to use. Eric and Michael almost come to blows in the backyard until the BIG BROTHER producers intercede over the house speakers and separate them.
Michael and Janelle commence a fling in the days leading up to the eviction ceremony, with Janelle breaking up with her boyfriend on the live show. Michael is evicted by a vote of 9-1. The Head of Household competition involves answering questions based on how a player thinks the majority of the remaining houseguests will answer the question, not the correct answer itself. Kaysar wins Head of Household.
Kaysar's Head of Household win shocks some of the players, especially the ones in Eric's alliance. The remaining houseguests fail miserably in the Food Competition spelling bee and are forced to live on peanut butter and jelly for the next week. Kaysar nominates house favorites James and Maggie for eviction.
Kaysar conspires to pull three pairs into an alliance: himself and Janelle, Howie and Rachel, and Sarah and James. The plan is for the six members to throw the Power of Veto competition in James' favor so he can save himself, allowing Kaysar to nominate Eric for eviction.
All of the secret pairs come clean to each other. Eric is evicted by a vote of 5-4, and his partner Maggie swears that she will get revenge. The Head of Household competition involves rolling a ball towards a hole and getting it as close as possible without it falling into the hole. Maggie ends up closest and wins Head of Household.
The remaining houseguests are successful at the fill-in-the-blank Food Competition and win full rations for the week. They also unlock a safe in the Golden Room that contains a plate of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. They find Janelle's name in one of the sandwiches, meaning Janelle is exempt from peanut butter and jelly for the rest of the game. Maggie nominates James and Kaysar for eviction.
The Power of Veto players are seated in front of individual TVs and given balls to throw at the controls; whomever gets to Channel 5 on their TV first wins PoV. Sarah wins the game and uses her Power to save James. Maggie replaces James with Janelle as the eviction nominee alongside Kaysar.
Kaysar is evicted from the house by a vote of 7-1. In the Head of Household competition, the players are given a question and have five seconds to answer. If they are incorrect, they're out, and if they correctly answer, they may eliminate someone from the contest. Howie lasts the longest and wins Head of Household. The houseguests are informed that America will choose one evictee to return to the household.
The Food Competition involves the players being divided into two teams and eating sweets off a conveyor belt; every item not eaten falls into a bucket, and the team with the lightest bucket wins food for the week.
The houseguests are awarded a backyard fiesta and told to decorate a set of pinatas. The Power of Veto players are told, one at a time, to put 10 pieces of candy into the pinatas; whomever's pinata comes closest to 20 pieces of candy wins PoV. For the fourth week in a row, James wins Power of Veto, which he uses to remove himself from the chopping block. Howie replaces him with Ivette as an eviction nominee.
Sarah is evicted from the house by a vote of 6-1, a move that deeply angers James. America votes to allow Kaysar back in the house, and the remaining houseguests are thrilled at the decision.
Janelle wins a 42" plasma TV and Netflix subscription with her box pick, and April wins $3000 in cash. Jennifer lasts 14 hours in the pressure cooker and wins the Head of Household competition. Jennifer breaks her word to Kaysar and their old alliance, nominating Rachel and Janelle for eviction.
Rachel wins Power of Veto in a coaster-tossing competition, which she uses to remove herself from the chopping block. To James' astonishment, Jennifer replaces Rachel with Kaysar as an eviction nominee.
Tensions run high due to the bitter alliances in the house. Janelle and Beau face off in an argument that has to be broken up by the other houseguests.
The Power of Veto competition is a mini-version of hockey where each player has to shoot pucks into six goals in the shortest amount of time. Janelle wins the contest and shockingly removes Maggie from the eviction block, replacing her with Ivette.
Beau nominates Rachel and Howie for eviction. The Power of Veto competition involves each player grouping pictures of the seven house pairs in the quickest time. James is the fastest and wins another Power of Veto. James decides not to use the Veto, leaving Rachel and Howie on the chopping block.
Howie and Rachel vow that they will do everything to break up the "Friendship Allies" once one of them is eliminated. Rachel is evicted by a unanimous vote. In the Head of Household contest, the remaining players are asked a series of questions and eliminated with a wrong answer. April lasts the longest and wins Head of Household.
April nominates Janelle and Howie for eviction. The Power of Veto competition involves each player being assigned to a lane filled with mud, where they must burrow and retrieve keys that will unlock the PoV medallion.
James is evicted from the house by a unanimous vote. In the Head of Household competition, each player rolls a bowling ball down a narrow track; the farther it goes without falling off, the more points are earned. Howie scores the most points and wins Head of Household. Host Julie Chen reveals that this is another double eviction week, so Howie has to quickly decide and nominates Beau and Ivette for eviction.
The Power of Veto competition is a casino-style trivia game, where players risk a certain amount of chips on a trivia question. Maggie gets the most questions right and wins Power of Veto. She decides not to use it, and Beau is evicted by a unanimous decision. The Head of Household competition is another series of household trivia questions. Ivette wins a tiebreaker against Maggie, making her the new Head of Household.
Ivette nominates Janelle and Howie for eviction, with her intent being to remove Janelle from the house. The Power of Veto competition involves composites of three faces forming one face; the players must guess the three houseguests whose faces make up the composite. Janelle completes the task in the fastest time and wins Power of Veto, which she uses to save herself. Ivette has no choice but to nominate her friend April for eviction.
Howie is evicted from the household by a vote of 2-1. The Head of Household competition is a timeline trivia game. Janelle answers the most questions correctly and wins Head of Household.
With all of the guys eliminated, the girls begin to bond, settling a lot of their differences. Janelle wins the America's Choice competition: a trip to the set of TWO AND A HALF MEN. Janelle nominates Maggie and Ivette for eviction.
The Power of Veto competition involves the players chaining together former players' face as they answer trivia questions about the evictees. Ivette completes her chain first and wins Head of Household, saving herself and forcing Janelle to put April on the chopping block.
Ivette stays on the platform the longest, winning passage to the final round of the HoH contest; she also wins 2 scooters as a bonus prize. Janelle beats Maggie in Round 2, setting up a showdown between Janelle and Ivette for Head of Household. Round 3 involves Janelle and Ivette filling in the blanks of incomplete evictee quotes. Ivette gets the most correct and wins Head of Household, which she uses to evict Janelle.
The jury members are shocked that Ivette kept Maggie even though she had a better chance to win in a vote against Janelle. The jurors take turns questioning Ivette and Maggie, followed by the two finalists making closing statements. Maggie wins BIG BROTHER 6 and $500,000 by a final vote of 4-3.
