Daniel Post is arrested for trying to buy a lung from another terminally ill cancer patient. Brad finds out that Daniel and Denise are engaged. Shore must defend his friend Jerry Hands Espenson after he is caught driving in the car pool lane with a blow-up doll.
On his first day on the job, Jeffrey Coho gets a new client who has been accused of murdering a judge. Shore takes on a cross-dressing client who gets fired for wanting to take a maternity leave. Crane goes on a date with a woman that he met online. After he insults her, she threatens to sue his firm.
Ivan Tiggs wants to sue Shirley for writing too good of a post-nup for his soon-to-be ex-wife. Alan Shore shocks everyone when he agrees to represent Ivan. Meanwhile, Jeffrey Coho prepares to defend an accused murderer, and Denny deals with being sued by his internet date.

Meanwhile, Scott Little's murder trial takes a turn for the creepy when his father reveals to the court an Oedipal incident he once witnessed; and, Denny decides to date his new little woman.

But Lincoln starts acting very strange, and Denny begins to lose interest. Alan helps Jerry Espenson with a client who is a suspect in a murder trial and is susceptible to blackouts.
Everyone realizes Shirley is missing. Shirley attempts to reason with her kidnapper, Lincoln Meyer. Jerry shows his legal skills in the murder case he and Alan are working on. Denny gets jealous when he sees Jerry and Alan bonding.

Denny Crane helps a woman whose anoerexic teenage daughter is seeking emancipation. Denise, Brad, and Jeffrey are pulled together to represent a woman whose husband was killed by a lightning bolt.
New CP&S attorney Vanessa asks for Alan's help in representing a doctor from New Orleans who euthanized five patients during Hurricane Katrina. Both Alan and Denny head to New Orleans. Claire helps Clarence sue a women's gym. Jeffrey Coho asks Denise out. Denise weighs the pros and cons of dating him.
Denny Crane, dismayed to learn his name is on the federal No-Fly List, asks for Alan Shore’s help in taking on Homeland Security. Shirley Schmidt and Vanessa Walker defend a third-grade teacher charged with wrongful death after her student has a fatal allergic reaction in class. Meanwhile, the cross-dressing Clarence adopts another persona.
Bella is spray painted blue by angry animal rights activists. She insists Denny square off against the protestors and their vindictive lawyer- Denny's ex, Bethany. Meanwhile, thanks to a tip from Alan, Brad suspects he is not the only one sleeping with Denise. Clarence pursues Claire. Paul plans an office costume party to boost morale.
