Detective Brett Hopper wakes up one morning to find he has been falsely accused of the murder of an Assistant DA. After he is imprisoned, he is told that his lover Rita has been killed and that his sister will be killed if he doesn't admit to the murder. The next morning he wakes up to find that somehow the day is happening all over again. He tries different tactics to escape the fate of the day, but finds that he cannot.
Hopper wakes up to find it is the same day yet again. This time he takes off on a road trip with Rita but finds that he can't escape his troubles by running away.
Hopper starts to wonder if someone close to him has helped frame him for Garza's muder. More clues are revealed that could help Hopper make the day finally end.
Hopper starts to figure out what his partner Andrea did that caused Internal Affairs to come after her.
Hopper tracks down Chad and tries to get some information from him. He later finds himself in a hostage situation.
Hopper beigins to track down the people who are in on the conspiracy to frame him for Garzas murder. He also discovers that he must continue to heed the warning of the consequences of his decisions when his actions turn out to affect the day in the worst possible ways imaginable.
Hopper believes he may have found someone who is inadvertently involved in his never-ending day and may also be caught in the same, repetitive loop.
Hopper believes that Jennifer is somehow involved in his hellacious day and hiding something from him. In order to find out what she's afraid to admit, he pays a visit to his estranged mother to go through his father's old police files to find a connection.
