Season 1 Episodes
Episode 1. Pilot (Air Date: 10/08/2000)

New York lawyer Ed seeks the simplicity of his small town after finding out that his wife was cheating on him. He seeks a relationship with a high school classmate, Carol, but she's in a relationship. Thinking he's found "the one," Ed buys Stuckeybowl, Stuckeyville's bowling alley, and sets up his law practice there. He lives with his best friend Mike and his newly grown family.

Episode 2. The World of Possibility (Air Date: 10/15/2000)

Stuckeyville Stan, the town's magician, hires Ed to stop a Masked Magician from revealing all his magic secrets. Carol's diary provides a clue to the case and bit about her crush. Phil heads up the Stuckeybowl re-opening.

Episode 3. Just Friends (Air Date: 10/22/2000)

Ed battles the firm that let him go over a contract written on a napkin. Ed tries to decide on a manager for Stuckeybowl.

Episode 4. Pretty Girls and Waffles (Air Date: 10/29/2000)

Carol decides that her boyfriend really isn't a match for her and Ed hopes that he could be her match. Ed defends a woman from her used-car salesman boss.

Episode 5. Better Days (Air Date: 11/05/2000)

Ed continues his attempts to woo Carol, but he also continues to be unsuccessful at it. He finds himself sharing time with Nick, Carol's ex. Phil concocts a commerical to try and drum up Stuckeybowl business.


Ed leads a travel and leisure critic through town and in an effort to put Stuckeyville on the map, heads up the Festival of Ducks. Carol ponders her continued existence in Stuckeyville.


Ed tries to handle a non-traditional Thanksgiving dinner for his friends. Ed represents a teen suing the owner of a shop he got injured breaking in to.

Episode 8. The Whole Truth (Air Date: 12/06/2000)

Ed helps Molly's grandfather compose his will, but truths revealed make Ed question his professional and friendly bonds. Phil arranges a Stuckeybowl open mic night.

Episode 9. Your Life Is Now (Air Date: 12/20/2000)

Ed's high school bully and Carol's boyfriend Troy comes to Stuckeyville for the holidays and turns their lives upside-down. Ed ends up in court when he seeks revenge against an appliance store that wasted his time.

Episode 10. Losing Streak (Air Date: 01/10/2001)

Ed's parents visit and openly disaprove of his choice to move back to Stuckeyville. Carol coaches the JV basketball team though she's unfamiliar with the sport. Ed defends men who, as a practical joke, convince a friend that he won the lottery.

Episode 11. Opposites Distract (Air Date: 01/17/2001)

Ed's defense of a man who feeds parking meters leads him into opposition of a beautiful and intelligent lawyer. Molly debates taking a promotion.

Episode 12. Hook, Line, and Sinker (Air Date: 01/24/2001)

Ed's quest to appeal the parking meter case is cut short when the opposing council drops the suit and asks Ed out on a date. Ed represents an insurance salesman fired by a boss who relies on a talking fish toy for decision making advice. Phil tries to convince the cast of "Happy Days" to make an appearance at Stuckeybowl.

Episode 13. The Music Box (Air Date: 02/07/2001)

Ed tries to balance his feelings for Bonnie and for Carol. Ultimately, his mechinations lead to a meeting between the two women. Warren is shot down in his attempt to join a bowling team with an attractive girl and ends up on a team of social misfits.

Episode 14. Valentine's Day (Air Date: 02/14/2001)

Ed defends a reverend let go for his dated style. Ed tries to decide whether to spend his Valentine's Day with Bonnie or Carol. Phil schemes to start a speed-dating outfit.

Episode 15. Loyalties (Air Date: 02/20/2001)

Big Rudy, Stuckeybowl's previous owner, decides that he wants the place back after seeing what Ed's done with it. Bonnie receives a job offer in DC. Ed's client is a songwriter who was abandoned by her band.

Episode 16. Live Deliberately (Air Date: 02/28/2001)

Ed wonders about his own mortality and lifestyle when he takes on a client whose own near-death experience sparked a renewed zest for living. Warren hopes to woo Jessica with his knowledge of Thoreau. Phil asks Ed for part of Stuckeybowl's profits.

Episode 17. Exceptions (Air Date: 03/28/2001)

Ed defends a gym teacher who is giving a failing grade to one of Carol's most promising students. Shirley accepts the position of Ed's legal clerk.

Episode 18. The Test (Air Date: 04/04/2001)

Ed represents a former girlfriend who wants to prove her husband to be a philanderer by providing a pretty girl as a test of his faithfulness. Carol fights budgetary cuts to the music program. Nancy investigates her nanny's qualifications.

Episode 19. Window Of Opportunity (Air Date: 05/02/2001)

Ed hopes Carol can help him stop a young couple from marrying before really considering what they're getting into. Ed tries to aid an overweight man who is tired of his brother's mean approach to keeping him from overeating. Warren asks out Donna.

Episode 20. Mind Over Matter (Air Date: 05/09/2001)

Ed seeks a landmark status for Stuckeybowl to ensure its longevity. Molly is perturbed to find out that her beau asked Carol out first.

Episode 21. Mixed Signals (Air Date: 05/16/2001)

Carol questions Ed's advice of "go after the girl" to Warren. Phil hosts a Vegas Night at Stuckeybowl. Ed represents a golfer who lost because a heckler blew his concentration.

Episode 22. Prom Night (Air Date: 05/23/2001)

Ed chaperones the high school prom with Carol. A former law cohort asks Ed to rejoin the firm that let him go. Warren debates whether to go to the dance dateless or hire a date. Phil thinks he's realized his dream when he starts filming himself scaring unsuspecting victims.
