Episode 1. After the Storm (Air Date: 10/01/2006)

Joan returns to L.A. to the news that Toni is moving to New York and they may not reconcile. Meanwhile, William has second thoughts about marrying Monica.

Episode 2. In Too Deep (Air Date: 10/08/2006)

Joan is surprised to discover that Monica now manages the J-Spot, but she becomes sympathetic after learning William put her in charge to get away from her doubts about their engagement. Meanwhile, Darnell considers quitting his job, but tries to keep it a secret from Maya until he is certain.

Episode 3. Bad Blood (Air Date: 10/16/2006)

Joan begins a workout program at her house and invites Maya and Lynn to join her; but the real reason for having them over is because Joan feels threatened by Maya, whose own house has become the hangout spot.

Episode 4. Hustle & Dough (Air Date: 10/23/2006)

Lynn hopes to jumpstart her music career with a performance at an open mic night. But when she falls asleep before being called to the stage, she is left with the option of sleeping with a lascivious record producer to get her foot in the door. Meanwhile, Joan, Maya and William search for a large sum of cash that has gone missing from the J-Spot.

Episode 5. Everybody Hates Monica (Air Date: 10/30/2006)

Joan is mad at Maya and Lynn for seeing Toni behind her back, especially since she is adamant about being over her issues from the past with Toni. Meanwhile, Maya tries to connect with Darnell via phone sex.


Maya refuses to believe Jabari is having trouble adapting to his new suburban lifestyle. But after she discovers he's been cutting classes and plagiarizing assignments, she's forced to reconsider her position. Then, Jabari gets arrested and Maya realizes she must get more involved in his life.

Episode 7. Just Joan (Air Date: 11/13/2006)

Maya challenges Joan to go to a fashionable restaurant all by herself as a way of empowering herself. Meanwhile, William tries to prevent Monica from learning about his brief marriage to Lynn.

Episode 8. Karaokee-Dokee (Air Date: 11/20/2006)

The girlfriends disagree on the path Lynn is following for her music career. She just wishes they would stop involving themselves in her career. So when she receives an actual phone call of interest from Outkast's own Big Boi, she believes it's Joan and Lynn joking with her; and, William and Joan's relationship irks Monica.

Episode 9. He Had A Dream (Air Date: 11/27/2006)

Maya stresses over owning a home and caring for Jabari while Darnell is in Florida. The situation worsens when she can't reach Darnell after a crash at his NASCAR event. Meanwhile, Lynn and Big Boi clash in the studio; and, William and Monica try to put together a seating arrangement for their wedding without killing each other.


Joan's dating relationship with the teacher from New Orleans goes so well that she begins to look for problems. Meanwhile, Maya and Darnell are compelled to compete with their neighbors' unruly holiday decorations.

Episode 11. Wrong Side of the Tracks (Air Date: 01/22/2007)

Lynn contemplates leaving Los Angeles after her music dreams are crushed by Big Boi, who tells her he can't use her music because of issues between himself and the record company. Meanwhile, Darnell's pride takes a huge hit when he returns to work at the garage and its owner refuses to let him forget that he left NASCAR.

Episode 12. I Want My Baby Back (Air Date: 01/29/2007)

When Maya sees Jabari flirting with a girl, she becomes concerned that he's growing up too fast. Meanwhile, Joan uses Lynn's bathroom instead of her new boyfriend's in order to keep up the appearance that she is mysterious somehow as a way to keep her new guy interested. And, William and Monica turn to Lynn for sex advice.

Episode 13. Hot for Preacher (Air Date: 02/05/2007)

Lynn tries to come to terms with the fact that her latest man of interest is a Baptist minister. Meanwhile, Joan wants Maya and Monica to make up and be friends again, but the ladies' stubbornness makes that difficult.

Episode 14. Time to Man Up (Air Date: 02/12/2007)

Maya and Darnell become friends of their new neighbors, but Maya soon suspects that the husband is beating the wife. At a Valentine's Day party, Darnell agrees with Maya's suspicions and confronts the abuser. Meanwhile, Joan and Aaron argue over the meaning of Valentine's Day, as Aaron doesn't believe it's a worthwhile event.


Drama at William and Monica's wedding, as William drinks a bit too much and spills the beans that he's had doubts about going through with the marriage all along. His doubt gives Monica doubts about their future together, and she contemplates ending things right then and there. Meanwhile, Darnell irks Maya when he reveals that he's known about William's second thoughts all along.

Episode 16. What Had Happened Was... (Air Date: 02/26/2007)

Joan and Aaron try to come clean about their past relationships, but when the couple runs into an old lover of hers who happens to be a friend of his, she has trouble telling him about their mutual past, because at the time Aaron's friend was a married man. Meanwhile, Darnell tries to cheer up William after his breakup with Monica.

Episode 17. Church Lady (Air Date: 03/19/2007)

Lynn keeps hoping that Eldon will give in to his attraction for her and make a move. But she soon discovers that he's begun dating a woman from his congregation who happens to share his views on pre-marital sex. Meanwhile, William gives the girls the silent treatment as punishment for ruining his marriage, only the girls don't notice his plan.

Episode 18. Operation Does She Yield (Air Date: 03/26/2007)

Distressed by William's slide into insanity as a result of his split with Monica, the girls travel to Chicago in order to persuade her to return to him. They soon learn that Monica has been cut out of her family's wealth, so Joan offers her a job at the J-Spot. William's joy over Monica's return quickly sours when she demands half of his income from the time they were together.


Darnell puts pressure on Maya to move back to the city, but she's struggling with that idea because she doesn't want to raise a child in the city. That's right: she's pregnant. Meanwhile, Monica deals with real-world finances after losing access to her family wealth.

Episode 20. A House Divided (Air Date: 04/30/2007)

Joan intentionally takes over an on-line auction for a house and buys it for Aaron. This leads to their first big fight, as the house is a shambles. Meanwhile, Eldon's congregation chafes against his relationship with Lynn; and, Maya and Darnell desperately try to sell their own home.

Episode 21. It's Been Determined (Air Date: 05/07/2007)

Joan has an encounter with an ex who now wants to win her back and marry her. But after Maya and Lynn confront her, Joan realizes that Aaron's the man she should be with. Lucky for her, he pops the question in front of all her friends, and this strong, powerful woman gets a happy ending.

Episode 22. To Be Determined... (Air Date: 05/07/2007)

When Aaron's words suggest he's ready to make a lifelong commitment to Joan, she decides to be proactive and proposes to him. But his not quite immediate response freaks out Joan and she leaves him. Meanwhile, Maya and Darnell might have found their dream house, but the chance to buy the garage might cause Darnell to reconsider the couple's prospects.
