Episode 1. Accountability (Air Date: 09/28/04)

In the sixth-season opener, Amy welcomes David back from New Mexico and is ordered by the state's chief court administrator to participate in accountability court for juveniles with minor charges. Episode 2. Lullaby (Air Date: 10/12/04)

A case involving a teen (Amanda Barfield) who breaks curfew and steals her mom's car to visit her boyfriend helps Amy to become more intuitive and attentive. Episode 3. Legacy (Air Date: 10/19/04)

Episode 4. Consent (Air Date: 10/26/04)

When Amy hears the case of a teen (Michael Bartel) accused of forcing a girl to perform oral sex, she must decide if it was sexual assault or the result of peer pressure at a party. Episode 5. Order and Chaos (Air Date: 11/23/04)

In need of a shoulder to cry on, Amy turns to Bruce, a move that doesn't sit well with David. Elsewhere, Vincent takes a long, hard look at the direction his life has taken during a road trip with a smart but troubled teen (Robbie Allen); and Maxine's new digs in a dingy hotel don't do much to improve her sullen outlook, which gets her into trouble at work. Episode 6. Catching It Early (Air Date: 11/30/04)

Over the course of one very tense day, Amy struggles to keep it together emotionally while awaiting the results of a biopsy from a test for breast cancer. Meanwhile, Maxine's continued search for a missing foster child leads to a burned-out social worker (Angie Dickinson); and Vincent urges a reluctant Peter to enroll Ned in a school for gifted kids. Episode 7. Early Winter (Air Date: 12/07/04)

The Gray siblings revert to childish patterns of behavior while in the hospital looking after Maxine, who doesn't seem very worried about her health, but is hell-bent on retrieving a locket from her vanity at home. Episode 8. Conditional Surrender (Air Date: 12/14/04)

Amy gets hit with bad news everywhere she turns, beginning when Lauren announces her desire to move in with Michael. Then, David tells Amy that he's taking off on his sailboat for an indefinite vacation. Meanwhile, Maxine refuses to give up her unhealthy lifestyle; and Vincent starts a new job helping out street kids, in particular a teen named Leon who needs a hand preparing for the GED exam. Episode 9. Silent Era (Air Date: 01/11/05)

Just when Maxine seems to have decided to stop feeling sorry for herself and get on with life, she gets some sobering news during a visit to the cardiologist. Amy, meanwhile, is discouraged that a teen (Tara Correa-McMullen) she placed on probation is back in her courtroom and behaving without the slightest bit of remorse. Episode 10. The Long Run (Air Date: 01/18/05)

A positive pregnancy test throws Amy for a loop, but it doesn't take long for her to break the news to David (Adrian Pasdar) over the phone. Elsewhere, Maxine gets back to the daily grind with a new healthy outlook, which is quickly put to the test by a teen who lies to her about the infant in his care. Episode 11. 10,000 Steps (Air Date: 01/25/05)

Tears are involved when Amy breaks the news to Lauren that she's pregnant with David's baby; Ignacio is determined to make a positive difference in Maxine's life; and Peter isn't exactly comfortable with the fact that he and Gillian are behaving like lovesick teens. Episode 12. You Don't Know Me (Air Date: 02/01/05)

Amy is annoyed that her relationship with Bruce has evolved to the point where he knows all of her idiosyncrasies, including, he asserts, how she'll rule in a heartrending case involving a young girl with severe epilepsy. Elsewhere, Maxine has issues with an affluent, mostly white prep school after a student there is severely beaten; a publisher takes an interest in Vincent's new book; Lauren lashes out at Amy for being pregnant. Episode 13. Dream a Little Dream (Air Date: 02/08/05)

Amy searches for the perfect house for her and David to start their life together, while at work she must decide the appropriate punishment for a 13-year-old boy convicted of fatally shooting his terminally ill grandfather. Episode 14. Happy Borthday (Air Date: 02/22/05)

Amy finds it rather difficult to follow her mom's advice and embrace her 40th birthday as a milestone, especially when she's dealing with uncontrollable nausea and vomiting from her pregnancy. Meanwhile, Donna is in Amy's court representing a 13-year-old girl (Alexa Nikolas) who is being sentenced for vehicular homicide; and Maxine tries to determine whether two brothers are better off without the presence of their father---who's an ex-con---in their lives. Episode 15. Hard to Get (Air Date: 03/08/05)

Bruce is wary of Amy's decision to help out troubled teen Graciela Reyes (Tara Correa-McMullen), fearing it will lead to more heartache and disappointment for Amy, who is still grieving over a miscarriage. Meanwhile, Maxine tries to put new meaning in the life of an old friend from high school; and Crystal asks Vincent to be her special guest at a 12-step meeting to mark 30 days of sobriety. Episode 16. The Paper War (Air Date: 03/15/05)

Amy draws the ire of the state's attorney's office after her remarks about how prosecutors are “destroying the lives of children for political gain” end up in the paper. As a result, Amy's inundated with requests to move cases out of her court, which causes a litigation nightmare that puts Donna's 17-year-old client at risk of being considered AWOL from the Coast Guard. Also, Maxine supports a rehabilitated mother in a fight to regain custody of her two kids. Judge Heuson: James Shanklin.

Episode 17. The New Normal (Air Date: 03/22/05)

Spring is in the air---and romance seems to be blossoming between Maxine and a newly divorced Ignacio (Cheech Marin). Meanwhile, Crystal goes behind Vincent's back to have him transferred to a different job, which puts a damper on their relationship; Amy is hurt because Lauren doesn't want her to chaperone a school dance; and, in Amy's courtroom, a 15-year-old Arab-American boy is accused of committing a hate crime against a peer. Episode 18. Sorry I Missed You (Air Date: 04/05/05)

Amy's spreading herself too thin, between dealing with Lauren's latest act of rebellion (dying her hair pink) and trying to get a not-guilty verdict in the Graciela Reyes trial, plus she has to make a ruling in a child-custody case involving allegations of abuse. Meanwhile, Maxine helps a 7-year-old boy, who has a strong bond with his foster mother, adjust to life with his biological parent; and Vincent struggles to work up enthusiasm for his prison writing workshops. Episode 19. Revolutions per Minute (Air Date: 04/12/05)

Lauren's rebellious attitude continues to test the patience of Amy, who's perturbed when her daughter suddenly becomes a vegetarian. Amy's also annoyed that a certain political strategist won't take no for an answer about her pursuing a senate seat. Meanwhile, Maxine tries to help a lonely single mom (Debbon Ayer) with the difficult responsibility of raising an autistic child; and Peter and Gillian work on trust issues in their marriage. Episode 20. Too Little, Too Late (Air Date: 04/19/05)

Maxine is afraid of becoming more than just friends with Ignacio (Cheech Marin) at the same time as she sets out to prove an arrogant college professor is guilty of spouse abuse; a 15-year-old boy with a criminal record asks Amy to believe that he has turned his life around and that he's innocent of the serious crimes he's charged with; Lauren's participation in a “Meat Is Murder” rally gets her suspended from school.

Episode 21. Getting Out (Air Date: 04/26/05)

Amy and Bruce's relationship is further strained when they have a difference of opinion in court over a juvenile offender. In other matters, Amy's given new hope of getting Graciela (Tara Correa-McMullen) freed from jail; Maxine and Sean come up against bureaucracy when trying to help a foster family keep a roof above their heads; and Vincent is moved by the poignant essays of a prison inmate, whose days in the writing workshop are numbered. Episode 22. My Name Is Amy Gray... (Air Date: 05/03/05)

In the series finale, Amy reconsiders going to Washington, D.C., to deliver a political speech that would essentially kick off her Senate campaign. Elsewhere, Amy wraps up loose ends in her courtroom, including the matter of a 13-year-old boy who is being held for a violent act he committed while on prescribed medications.
