A man claims it wasn't his intention that anyone other than himself die when he parked his car on railroad tracks, attempting suicide, and the ensuing derailment leads to the death of eleven passengers. During the trial, the man fires his lawyer and represents himself, but the testimony of his brother, called by the prosecution, is his undoing.
