Tom finds a spark with his ex-girlfriend when he must rep her band. When it turns out the feelings are mutual they break the rules and sleep together. So as he fights to get her band placed on Letterman, the band suffers under the weight of the romance. Also, Mike has feelings of jealousy over Karen's ex and the guys try to help him through it.
Tom struggles to balance his love life and career as the rock star lifestyle of a band he's promoting derails his efforts while a critic he is trying to impress with the band falls for him. Meanwhile, Brandy and Scott have a pregnancy scare, which proves damaging to their relationship.
Tom discovers an amazing singer, the son of the deceased owner of their favorite pizza joint, who was left to run the restaurant and support the family. Tom must try to convince to follow his talent while fighting for the label to take a chance on him over the artist that Julia is pursuing. Also, Mike and Shooter are mugged and must find their own ways to coping with it.
Tom tries to land his idol when his catalogue is put up for sale by his former label but the singer is reluctant after a 25 year hiatus. Also, a woman saves Tom from choking and he begins to date her while Shooter ponders a business partnership with a porn star.
Tom prepares for Wayne's big album release and must protect him from the business as everyone wants some of the action. He must also cope with his old label which is aggressively wooing Wayne to come over. Meanwhile, Mike and Karen are getting ready for their baby to arrive while Shooter ponders revealing his sexuality publicly.
