Season 3 Episodes

The sitcom's third season opens with unforeseen dramas swirling around Bobby's impending marriage to Swedish nanny Elsa (Mini Anden). Meanwhile, PJ's fling with Bobby's brother (Billy Burke) hits obstacles; the boys engage in a mustache-growing contest; and Andy welcomes a new member to his family.

Episode 2. Private Eyes (Air Date: NA)

PJ basks in a newfound romance, only to discover that keeping the relationship a secret is a mighty difficult task. Meanwhile, Brendan works to open up a nightclub. And Mike has a stiff upper lip: He decides to keep his mustache, no matter that the boys' mustache-growing contest has ended.

PJ receives a promotion and is given the honor of having her own newspaper column---but it remains uncertain whether the advancement was due to her writing talent or her looks. Elsewhere, Kenny and Mike get a peek at Brendan's lusty life as a club owner; Andy gives Bobby pointers on women.

PJ and the gang participate in their annual board-game contest, but Bobby throws PJ a curve when he criticizes her for being too competitive. Elsewhere, Stephanie uses the boys as her research guinea pigs for an article, which probes how men behave without women in their midst.

Brendan has an accident on his brand-new scooter, prompting PJ to make all his decisions for him for a week. Meanwhile, Kenny plays in a new band, but he must face the music when the bass player bows out. Enter Andy, who emerges as a replacement for a gig. And Mike begins dating a woman he met at Stephanie's seminar on romantic breakups.

The outlook gets sunny when springlike weather breezes into the Windy City during the middle of winter. Spring fever prompts PJ and Bobby to take in a picnic in the park---but a crucial life decision complicates the outing. Meanwhile, Kenny plunges into a new relationship; and Mike vainly emulates actor Matthew McConaughey by purchasing a dog and a Jeep.

The gang mulls over the net merits of Facebook, but a relationship may need rebooting when Bobby learns way too much information about PJ on the social-networking Web site. Elsewhere, Mike and Brendan try to dig up information on a comely woman, with Mike tapping into modern technology and Brendan using old-school methods.

A new friend trend stirs up the gang's dynamic when PJ forms a fast bond with one of Stephanie's pals (Brittany Ishibashi). In addition, Kenny and Mike befriend a customer (Martin Mull), a counselor whom Andy despises. Meanwhile, Brendan deals with an unreliable business partner. Fred Savage directed the episode.

In the Season 3 finale, the gang treks to Arizona for spring training. PJ tries to cover all the bases by writing about baseball's start in her column, but she falls victim to writer's block. Meanwhile, a player's girlfriend has eyes for Brendan; and a lonely Andy remains back in Chicago. Baseball player Mike Fontenot guest stars.
