Oliver tries to find away around the rules when Ted calls dibs on the Swedish exchange student. In an effort to rekindle their romantic spark, Jerry and Charlotte go out to a club that was a big player in their dating, but find that the atmosphere there has changed. Jerry and Charlotte slowly realize they've been breathing in second hand marijuana smoke.
Oliver gets an awful nickname when he spills soup on himself while riding the bus. Ted is asked to play piano at Jerry's Aunt's funeral because she had been giving the family money for lessons which was misappropriated elsewhere.
Oliver seeks his father's input on developing into manhood. Ted thinks that embracing his feminine side will improve his chances with Elke. Charlotte mothers Joyce.
Oliver is disappointed by the X-Ray Specs that he sent away for. Connie, Charlotte's sister, visits. Jerry receives tickets to see John F. Kennedy.
Oliver makes peace with the school bully Ward, who in turn shows interest in dating Joyce. Ted will stop at nothing to impress Elke. The tenants' association president asks the Beene's to remove the door knocker which Oliver made in shop class.
Oliver learns on his return to class after the summer vacation that he's been placed in a remedial class by his former teacher because of clownish behavior.
Jerry tries to get a better crowd to attend his and Charlotte's party by telling people a famous comedian, Buddy Fontaine, will be in attendance. Ted and Oliver try to recruit the comedian.
Oliver tries to impress a girl by forming a rock band. Ted attempts to impress Elke through a wrestling tournament.
Oliver ends up pairing up with Joyce at a make-out party. Charlotte squares off against Stitt for Tenant Association President.
Ted learns that his father throws a baseball like a girl and that his mother was a great softball player. The embarassment factor makes it hard for Ted and Jerry to relate. Oliver and company try to keep possession of their tree house when a transient attempts a takeover.
Charlotte makes the family take a Catskills vacation which is anything but relaxing. Ted hopes to spend some intimate time with Elke who he brings along as his friend. Oliver plays a tough game of Simon Says.
Oliver's family begins a rivalry with the neighbors when a trip to Coney Island is ruined by a parking space. Charlotte takes a paper route.
Oliver accepts a babysitting job for Joyce, but she has a harder time taking her former position back than she realized.
