Episode 1. It's a Family Thing (Air Date: 09/16/2003)

Nicole shows up on Flex's doorstep after a month in Africa, and is informed by Flex that they are still legally married after he failed to file their divorce papers 12 years ago. The fact that they hooked up two years back leads a judge to order that they stay married and work out their troubles. Meanwhile, the competition for Breanna's affections escalates between Josh and Arnaz, leading Breanna to mistrust both of them.

Episode 2. Stepmom Misstep (Air Date: 09/23/2003)

Natalie asks Brianna and Spirit to come along on her romantic weekend with Flex in order to help end Breanna's lingering heartbreak, but she ends up being too protective about insignificant things and not protective enough about interested boys.

Episode 3. Creepin' (Air Date: 09/30/2003)

Flex and Breanna help each other get over their romantic wounds by spending time together, while Duane and Candy decide to put on a party for speed dating.

Episode 4. PTAmore (Air Date: 10/07/2003)

Flex attends a school meeting to talk about a fundraising idea of Breanna's and ends up overthrowing the head of the PTA.

Episode 5. 2 Young, 2 Curious (Air Date: 10/14/2003)

Feeling a little old, Flex tries flirting with a young girl, but awkwardly discovers she's one of Breanna's classmates.


Flex tries to get to a popular high school basketball player through Breanna for an interview.

Episode 7. I Hear White People (Air Date: 11/04/2003)

Following a freak golfing accident, Duane gains the ability to hear the thoughts of white people and becomes more conscious of racism around him. With Flex worrying that he may lose his job, he utilizes Duane's gift in order to see if the new management at the station is discriminating against the African-American staffers.

Episode 8. Keeping It (Air Date: 11/11/2003)

Breanna and Spirit decide to have sex after being pressured by the cheerleading squad who have all done it, only when Arnaz reveals to Breanna he's not a virgin, she realizes she'd rather wait to have sex. Meanwhile, Flex and Duane become unofficial watchmen for their building when a robbery occurs.

Episode 9. Tears of a Clown (Air Date: 11/18/2003)

When Flex's ratings start sagging, his station manager decides, much to Flex's chagrin, to hire a sexy young sidekick to help boost the ratings.

Episode 10. Spy Games (Air Date: 11/25/2003)

Flex is attracted to smart and sexy sportswriter Sheila, and has Breanna tutor her son Eric to help him get closer, but when Eric starts swiping Flex's stories for his mom, Flex and Breanna decides it's time to turn the tables.

Episode 11. It's a Miserable Life (Air Date: 12/16/2003)

Nicole announces to Flex and Breanna that she's pregnant and about to marry her boyfriend, and Flex agrees to speed up their divorce and let the couple get married in his house during Christmas. Still, Breanna's hopes that her parents would reunite are crushed.

Episode 12. Dream Seller (Air Date: 01/13/2004)

When Flex must juggle his sportscasting job and watching over his father's barbershop, he manages to screw up an interview with R&B singer Anthony Hamilton, costing himself his on-air job. Meanwhile Breanna, Spirit, Arnaz, and Josh become small-time high school fashion entrepreneurs.

Episode 13. East Meets East Coast (Air Date: 01/27/2004)

When Flex begins dating the daughter of a Korean-American shopowner next to his barbershop, her father reacts negatively. Meanwhile, Flex gets antsy about Brianna's close working relationship with her male lab partner and instead sets her up with the lovelorn Arnaz.


Flex decides to drive Breanna, Arnaz, and Spirit to a hip-hop festival, but the attempt at making a lasting memory for the kids sputters when Flex's car runs out of gas. When Flex goes for gas, the remaining trio catch a ride to the show from singer Angie Stone when they assume he's abandoned them.

Episode 15. The Catch (Air Date: 02/24/2004)

When Breanna makes friends with a new student named Charlotte at McKinley High, she learns that Charlotte was the girl Arnaz lost his virginity to while on summer vacation. Meanwhile, Flex and Duane compete for the condo board presidency, but to counteract the factor of Flex's celebrity status, Duane gets singer Ruben Studdard to help campaign for him.


When Duane finally meets his father, Vaughn, he learns that Vaughn needs his kidney, only to discover it's really for a half-brother, DeWayne, he never knew existed. Meanwhile, Flex gets an interview that could help his chances of getting his show on the air nationally, but during the interview, his attractive co-host ends up being the real presence, and Breanna pretends to be her own secret admirer to bring out the envy in Arnaz.

Episode 17. Spy Games Reloaded (Air Date: 03/30/2004)

While at a national sports conference, Flex runs into his old rival Sheila Kerr, and they once again compete for the same job with the same dirty trickery. Meanwhile, Breanna lets things get a little out of hand while Flex is away.

Episode 18. Cabin Fever (Air Date: 04/06/2004)

When a major snowstorm hits Baltimore, Breanna gets snowed in at the school along with Flex and her drama teacher, who Flex fears may be the new object of Breanna's adulation. Flex's father later tries to make Flex explain his feelings of envy.

Episode 19. Sleepless in Baltimore (Air Date: 04/27/2004)

When Breanna goes online to find Flex a dream woman, she ends up hooking him up with a woman Flex actually dated ten years earlier, ditched, then forgot he ditched. Meanwhile, Duane tries to make a good impression when his foster child comes for a visit.

Episode 20. No More Wire Hangers (Air Date: 05/04/2004)

After Arnaz is abused by his alcoholic mother, Flex intervenes and tries to coax her to get help for her drinking problem.

Episode 21. The Prodigal Brother (Air Date: 05/11/2004)

Flex's hairdresser brother, Kevin, comes home with plans to take over the family's barbershop, but learns that Flex is selling the shop. After Flex helps Kevin wrap up some unfinished business with his styling clientele, he decides to let Kevin manage the shop. Meanwhile, Breanna tries to adhere to one of Flex's groundings.

Episode 22. Phatheadz (Air Date: 05/18/2004)

New barbershop owner Jack Sherwood puts his daughter Tiffany in charge as co-manager with Kevin, and she and Kevin begin to argue over which vision for the barbershop is better. The two soon find a common ground, deciding to make a shop that can cater to both men and women's haircuts and personal interests.

Episode 23. The Play's the Thing (Air Date: 05/25/2004)

The producer for Flex and Holly's new show wants them to pretend to be having a romance for the media, but Holly soon really begins to fall for Flex. Meanwhile, when Arnaz settles on moving to New York, Breanna channels her depression into her acting.

Episode 24. Bright Lights, Big City (Air Date: 05/25/2004)

When Holly discovers that Flex really doesn't share her feelings for him, she decides to sabotage their chances of landing a syndication deal for the show, but the escalating war between the two only ends up boosting the show's worth. Meanwhile, Breanna decides to go to New York with Arnaz.
