Christina arrives in the town of Point Pleasant when she's rescued from the ocean by Jesse and takes up residence with a local family, the Kramers, who've been in mourning over their dead daughter Isabelle.
Christina continues to search for her mother. Lucas Boyd arrives in town and immediately starts to push buttons, beginning with Christina and Amber Hargrove. A young priest believes that Christina is connected to a prophecy of doom and the older priest who finds the prophecies meets an untimely end.
Boyd and Amber ally themselves against the Kramers with Boyd putting Amber on a collision course with Meg. Boyd makes Sarah speak the awful truths of the town to her tour and sets up a car accident that endangers Judy's life.
Point Pleasant is abuzz with activity due to an upcoming meteor shower. Boyd decides to host the Kramers and Parkers with Amber Hargrove. Jesse and Paula break up. Christina is confronted by a man who asks to do her bidding.
Boyd organizes a dance marathon fund raiser to get closer to Sarah. Boyd's past includes a fateful dance marathon during the depression. Ben feels a bit put off by Meg and Amber's blossoming friendship. Christina's anger towards Paula manifests in a bloody dance.
Christina goes to visit a doctor who may have delivered her, but Judy and Jesse follow her. When Judy sees that same doctor fall to her death, she confronts Christina and asks her to leave.
Christina and Jesse share a bus ride that doesn't quite make it to their destination. Meg's hallucinations increase and Boyd fears that she may see the truth about him when she reveals that Isabel has been talking to her. Amber reconsiders her quest for Ben and tells Boyd that she's out of their arrangement.
Christina and Judy take the fight directly to Boyd in an effort to learn more about Christina's past. Boyd asks if Judy is the one Christina wants and she says yes, only to later learn that choice cost her Father Thomas. Jesse remembers something fantastic that happened in his childhood and when he approaches his mother, she lets him know that he was dead for seven hours. Meg's condition continues to deteriorate.
