When Kyra decides to move in with Brock and Barbra Jean, Reba and the rest of the family deal with their hurt feelings by looking back at the events that brought on Kyra's decision.
Reba grows closer than ever to Kyra, despite her moving to Brock and Barbra Jean's, who incidentally are going crazy from Kyra's behavior. Meanwhile, Van himself is going crazy over Cheyenne's snoring.
Looking to get Brock's attention, Cheyenne announces that she's going to take up a career in his profession, dentistry. Reba, however, attempts to steer her towards something a little simpler.
When Kyra starts keeping secrets, Barbra Jean gets concerned and coaxes Reba into trying to get into Kyra's e-mail. When they find out she's going to a party and plans to possibly get intimate with a boy, the two of them, along with Brock, decide to infiltrate the party and keep an eye on her.
Brock lies to Kyra when she asks if he's ever tried marijuana before, but he admits the truth to a shocked Barbra Jean. Meanwhile, Reba proudly stands by her track record of never having used any drug, while Cheyenne reveals a brief experience with drugs to Van.
The family partakes in a counseling workshop in which they are told to express their feelings and issues with one another.
Reba manages to make Barbra Jean think her new house is haunted, but the gag backfires on her when a frightened Barbra Jean moves in with her.
Kyra and Barbra Jean try to hide a cat in the attic to keep Brock from having an allergic reaction, only Barbra Jean discovers it's she and Cheyenne who have the cat allergy. Meanwhile, Brock and Reba vy for Jake's allegiance with elaborate giftgiving.
Van and Cheyenne try to deal with Van's superstitions about a big away football game, leaving Elizabeth in the hands of Barbra Jean during their absence. Reba, who knows that Barbra Jean once briefly lost Henry, tries to get care of Elizabeth over Barbra Jean, to no avail. She soon must explain her fears to Barbra Jean, who then uses a musical medley to lord it over her.
Reba decides to race against Brock to help raise money for Jake's school, and Van steps in to become her trainer. Meanwhile, Barbra Jean has a tough task ahead of her when she tries to teach Cheyenne the finer points of cooking.
When Reba disagrees with Van's decision to try out for arena football instead of carrying on with his college coursework, he is rattled and fumbles the tryout, leading a guilt-ridden Reba to reconsider and try to land him one more tryout.
Reba allows Kyra to go on her first date, despite Brock and Barbra Jean's objections, but Kyra's experience is less-than-stellar as all three parents end up being her chaperone when they learn her date is a little older than they thought.
Cheyenne thinks Van is cheating on her when she learns the football team's publicist gave him a ride home, throwing him out of the house in return.
To avoid telling his parents that he and Cheyenne live with her parents, Van tries to convince them that Reba is their maid. Meanwhile, Reba and Barbra Jean are shocked when Brock tells them of his intention to sell off his practice to try and make the PGA senior golf tour.
Cheyenne is in shock when Van announces he plans to shave his head in order to bond with the team. Meanwhile, Barbra Jean manages to sell one of Reba's worn shirts and starts to think the two should be business partners.
Kyra gets thrown out of school when she punches out a girl for calling Cheyenne a slut, but Brock and Reba are torn between applauding her action and condemning it. Meanwhile, Van helps Jake build a volcano for class, but soon ends up taking over the project entirely.
When Kyra goes missing from Brock and Barbra Jean's house in the middle of the night, the entire family starts to worry about her whereabouts. Meanwhile, Cheyenne panics about going on a cable sports show with Van, but when the two finally do the show, she actually turns out to be the one without the stagefright.
Barbra Jean sets up Reba on a blind date, but Reba is not happy about it. To make matters worse, it's a double date in which Barbra Jean and Brock will be the second couple. Meanwhile, Cheyenne is shocked to learn that Van bought a sports car with some of his bonus money.
Reba decides to be impulsive for a change and takes Van's sports car out for a ride, only she ends up scratching it in the process. She soon learns, however, in trying to keep it a secret, that another driver among the family may have dinged up the car before her.
Barbra Jean solicits Reba's words of wisdom when she suspects Brock is cheating on her, but they soon discover that the truth is Brock is just seeing a therapist. Meanwhile, Cheyenne and Van's attempt to chaperone Kyra's date with her boyfriend goes south when the boy dumps Kyra.
Barbra Jean is fed up with Reba's meddling in her marriage and vows never to talk to her again, but when Cheyenne gets them all to go out for her 21st birthday, the two ladies really butt heads.
Barbra Jean asks for Reba's help in telling Brock that she wants to have another child, but things go awry when Barbra Jean spots the two in what seems like a very romantic moment. Meanwhile, Van and Cheyenne try to get Reba to sign off on an expensive apartment when the two decide it's time to move out on their own.
