Cheyenne begins a regimen of pills to keep herself from drinking, but when Reba accidentally takes one herself, Cheyenne and Van must keep her away from alcohol or else the pill's effects will make her extremely sick. Meanwhile, Kyra and Jake take a pass at smoking despite the stern message about its dangers from former smokers Brock and Barbra Jean.
Barbra Jean signs Reba up for a web dating service, but when Reba meets a good man, the family laments the fact that dating keeps her away from the family much more often. Van and Cheyenne, especially, come to realize that Reba has had a major hand in helping them with Elizabeth. Barbra Jean and Brock, meanwhile, do some spying to see how the new guy stacks up to Brock.
Reba decides to start investing in order to compete with a big real estate competitor and enters into a partnership with Van to resolve her poor credit issue. Van ends up souring the partnership by buying a house without proper inspection. Meanwhile, Barbra Jean finds a friend in her car’s GPS system voice when Brock starts to become absent more frequently.
Cheyenne asks for Reba’s help when she grows frustrated with Van’s disinterest in God and going to church. When both Reba and Barbra Jean can’t convince Van to resurrect his interest in religion, Reba takes to the church for assistance, but its attractive pastor finds himself more interested in Reba.
When Reba and Jake take in a stray dog from the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Van and Cheyenne decide to take the dog’s owners into the house for a stay as well, only to find that the family is huge. Meanwhile, Barbra Jean turns her house into a pet haven, which aggravates the typically repulsed-by-dogs Brock.
Reba's plan to create a scary Halloween atmosphere with the family goes unfilled when everyone tells her they already have other plans. Meanwhile, Cheyenne's attractive new sponsor has a disapproving Van seeing red.
Brock delicately suggests that Barbra Jean shed the few pounds she's put on lately to feel better about herself, but when Barbra Jean admits she can't rid herself of her eating habits, Reba and Cheyenne decide to diet alongside her.
Cheyenne surprises the family by telling them she wants to spend her life helping people rather than pursue a career in dentistry, but it soon comes to light that she's already started helping out at a local old age home. Meanwhile, Barbra Jean's attempt to get on a jury panel goes awry when she irritates the presiding judge.
Reba inadvertently creates a swap scenario for the holidays, sending Barbara Jean to her nutty brother Buzzard's house in Lubbock and Buzzard to her own house. Buzzard immediately begins to suspect that Reba has been sending him love letters and that Brock is ruining his sister's life.
Reba and Van's ongoing arguments at the real estate office prompt their boss to send them to the company therapist. Meanwhile, Brock and Barbra Jean visit a sleep specialist to solve the mystery of Brock's chronic morning pain and weariness.
With Barbra Jean in St. Louis, Brock decides to crash at Reba's, only her attempts to boot him out are sidelined when he develops a kidney stone and must stay under her care. Meanwhile, Cheyenne is more than happy to do volunteer work at a local homeless shelter until she learns she'll be stuck in the kitchen scrubbing plates.
Barbra Jean is chided for her stern approach with Henry by Reba, but Reba soon comes to see the value in that approach after Jake coldly passes the buck on a broken lamp to an innocent Henry. Meanwhile, Brock and Van have a guy’s afternoon at a spa and learn that others assume them to be a couple.
Brock and Barbra Jean get audited by the IRS, and Reba is dragged into it when the audit involves her last married years with Brock as well. Reba soon panics when she learns that Brock has certain information the government shouldn't know about. Meanwhile, Cheyenne's misguided attempt to include Van in her class project about marriage gets him a lot of adoring eyes from her female classmates.
Barbra Jean laments telling the IRS about Brock and Reba's back tax figure of $75,000 after Brock considers moving to Las Vegas and selling off his house to pay the debt. Meanwhile, Van considers the possibility of becoming Brock's financial handler.
Reba tries to get Van to ease up on his micromanaging of Cheyenne's spending habits, since he is the one handling the family finances, but instead of loosening the reigns, he simply tries to allot her an allowance instead. Meanwhile, Barbra Jean learns that Jake has been making money selling soda in school despite the fact that kids aren't allowed to drink it.
Dr. James Morgan comes back to Houston and intends to get back into dating Reba, but after doubling with Van and Cheyenne, he admits to Reba that he is not divorced from his wife. Reba then decides to ask Brock for advice.
Reba and Van buy Brock and Barbra Jean's house so it won't be lost to the government, but end up renting it to the couple. A frustrated Barbra Jean then decides to get herself injured in the home to file a claim against her new landlord, Reba.
Reba takes the family's ribbing about her bad vision to heart when she gets Lasik surgery while the family is away. As Barbra Jean takes it upon herself to be Reba's eyes during the healing process, she gets an earful of Reba's comments about her when Reba believes she's having a chat with Cheyenne.
Reba gets antsy when the family attends the anger management session she and Brock were ordered into during their divorce, as the bickering begins to fly fast and furious. When Barbra Jean decides to invite herself to the session, the family ends up revealing their craziest moments with one another.
Barbra Jean convinces Reba to be her first new client when she gets into the game of selling insurance, but Reba discovers that she's got elevated blood pressure which might be problematic for her current policy. Meanwhile, Van asks Brock for some good ideas in crafting Cheyenne's anniversary gift.
Cheyenne and Van begin to hash out the details of their second wedding, but Reba and Barbra Jean's constant meddling leave Cheyenne exhausted. Brock and Barbra Jean soon decide to get married again in place of the couple, however, when Van and Cheyenne have a falling out.
Reba is taken to the hospital after collapsing at Van and Cheyenne's wedding, but she tries to keep her focus on keeping the estranged couple walking down the aisle. Meanwhile, she gets even more stressed out when Barbra Jean attempts to be helpful to her.
